PRAYER 2
Lord Almighty, our merciful Creator
Thank You very much for all the blessings
You Continuously shower upon us.
Thank You for letting us feel Your presence,
So that we may have the courage to overcome our fears and problems
May You keep us safe from harm and away from sickness.
Enlighten our minds and hearts to see what is right from wrong
Guide us in our studies so that we may learn as best as we can.

Give our teachers skills and enough perseverance in performing their task.
Bless our principal and all other school personnel,
With dignity and virtue.
Above all dear God,
Bless our school, M.B. Asistio Sr. High School,
And make it an effective partner of our parents,
In accomplishing our innocent goals.
And thereafter achieve lasting peace for everyone.
This we ask through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Competency

The learner proves theorems related to chords, arcs, central angles, and inscribed
angles. M10GE-IIc-d-1
Looking Back at your Lesson

● The degree measure of the central angle is equal to the measure of the
intercepted arc.
● The measure of non-overlapping adjacent arcs is equal to the sum of each
arc.
● The degree measure of a major arc is equal to 360o minus the measure of the
minor arc with the same endpoints.
● The degree measure of a semicircle is 180o.
● In a circle or congruent circles, two minor arcs are congruent if and only if
their corresponding central angles are congruent
● In a circle or congruent circles, two minor arcs are congruent if and only if
their corresponding chords are congruent.
● The degree measure of an inscribed angle equals one-half the measure of its
intercepted arc.
● The degree measure of two or more inscribed angles intercepting the same
arc of a circle are equal.
● An inscribed angle intercepting a semicircle is a right angle.
● Opposite angles of a quadrilateral inscribed in a circle are supplementary.
Lesson 1.1: Theorems on Central Angles, Arcs, and Chords

1. If two central angles are congruent, then the corresponding minor arcs are congruent.
Converse of Theorem 1:
If two minor arcs are congruent, then the corresponding central angles are congruent.
2. If two chords are congruent, then their corresponding minor arcs are congruent.
Converse of Theorem 2:

If two minor arcs are congruent, then their corresponding chords are congruent
Lesson 1.2: Theorems on Inscribed Angle

4. The measure of the inscribed angle is half the measure of the intercepted arc.
OR
The measure of the intercepted arc is twice the measure of the inscribed angle.
5. If an inscribed angle intercepts a semicircle, then it is a right angle.

6. If two inscribed angles of a circle (or congruent circles) intercept congruent arcs or the same arc are
congruent.
7. If a quadrilateral is inscribed in a circle, then its opposite angles are supplementary.
Remember

Theorems on Chords, Arcs and Central Angle

● In a circle or in congruent circles:
● Theorem 1: Two minor arcs are congruent if and only if their corresponding
central angles are congruent.
● Theorem 2: Two minor arcs are congruent if and only if their corresponding
chords are congruent.
● Theorem 3: A diameter bisects a chord and an arc with the same endpoints
if and only if it is perpendicular to the chord.
Remember

Theorems on Inscribed Angle

● Theorem 4: If an angle is inscribed angle in a circle, then the measure of the
angle equals one-half the measure of its intercepted arc (or the measure of
the intercepted arc is twice the measure of inscribed angle).
● Theorem 5: If two inscribed angles of a circle (or congruent circles)
intercept congruent arc, then the angles are congruent.
● Theorem 6: If an inscribed angle of a circle intercepts semicircle, then the
angle is a right angle.
● Theorem 7: If a quadrilateral is inscribed in a circle, then its opposite angles
are supplementary.
