INTRODUCTION

Online Lecturers’ Assessment System is a system that aids the assessment or evaluation of
lecturers or members of the academic staff by students.

On this system, students can assess the lecturers who are teaching them all courses in the
semester using a web browser or can have the system as a web application. System
administrators would be in charge of receiving and utilising the information for the success
of their job description.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
In Akim State College, lecturers are assessed or evaluated by students in the middle and the
end of each semester. This exercise is done manually by printing the assessment forms and
taking it around to all lecture halls for students to fill.

This means that in the absence of some or all of the staff of the Quality Assurance Unit of the
school, the exercise becomes tedious or does not hold at all. Also, the availability of all
students in school at a particular time is quite impossible. At times, not all students submit the
assessment forms making this exercise ineffective.

In the case of lack of printers, papers, ink and or power outage, the Quality Assurance Unit
have little or no means of providing opportunity for students to assess the lecturers as
required and at the supposed time.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE
To build a An Online Lecturers Assessment System for the assessment and evaluation
of lecturers.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
 To create an interactive portal for students to relate the estimated performance of their
lecturers.
 To eliminate the manual way of carrying out this task and allowing for mobility and
effectiveness.
 To eliminate the cost of printing quality assurance assessment sheets and computerising the
lecturers’ assessment of the institution.
METHODOLOGY

Having learnt models of system designs in Systems Analysis and Design, by careful
selection, the most suitable model of design for the development of this system is
Waterfall Model of system design.
TECHNOLOGIES FOR IMPLEMENTATION

The following technologies will be used in designing and developing this system.
HTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT, BOOTSTRAP and will be used for front-end
design and PHP as a scripting language for the MySQL will be used for back-end
development and data manipulation respectively.
SUMMARY
One of the heartbeat of every organisation/institution is to provide satisfactory delivery
of quality services to its members, nevertheless, the pattern of operation in an attempt
to achieve this principal desire can be hindered due to the method of implementation.

Thus, this system offers to help in the attempt to make sure that members of the staff
who offer academic services to the student of the institution are assessed effectively
without incurring the cost of manually printing papers and having to take these papers
to students in their diverse lecture halls thereby, giving way for mobility.
