ERECTING POSTS, GIRTS AND
GIRDERS
GIRDER are the beams that support
floor joint and tie the posts
.
POST/COLUMN is a vertical
structure support. It may be circular
or rectangular in shape .
PROCEDURE IN ERECTING POSTS, GIRTS AND
GIRDENS

1.Plane all the surface of the posts, girden


and girt.
2. Erect the first post.
3. Test the plumbness.
4. Place temporary braces.

5. Erect the second post.


6. Test plumbness
7. Place temporary braces.

8. Erect the third post.

9. Test the plumbness.

10. Place temporary braces.

11. Erect fourth post.


12. Test the plumbness.

13. Place temporary braces

14. Bore and place bolt on straps.

15.Lay out height or girder.

16.Transfer levelness to another post.


17.Make a lap joist to the post and girder.

18.Fasten the girder to the post with nail.


19. Bore hole and place bolts to the post.
20. Mark height of the girt.
21. Transfer levelness to another post.
22. Make a lap to the post and girt.
23. Fasten the girt to the post with nail.
24. Bore hole and place bolt on the girt
and to the post
