 01 INTRODUCTION
 An internship is job training for student who learning in university
to get practice knowledge and to research on their field study. An
internship is also the consists of an exchange the services for
experience between the students and organizations.
 And the Ethiopian Roads Authority or ERA company was my
hosting company during the internship.
 BACKROUND OF THE
COMPANY
 The Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) company is one of
the great organization founded in Ethiopia country, to distribute
of a roads construction and maintenance of vehicles to the
community for solving problems day to day. This organization
is founded in different towns in Ethiopia.
 Regional Offices

Even though the head offices of ERA is in Addis Ababa according to the
geographical location and equivalent road network volume five regional offices
are established. These are:
1. Northern ERA Regional Office - Gondar
2. Southern ERA Regional Office - Shashemene and Butajira
3. Eastern ERA Regional Office - Dire Dawa
4. Western ERA Regional Office - Jima and Nekemte
5. Central ERA Regional Office – Alemgena
 OBJECTIVES OF ERA
The main objectives of Ethiopian Roads Authority, among the services
the corporation renders, are:
➢To engage in the assembling of construction equipment and machinery,
manufacturing spare parts provide maintenance service for construction
Equipment and machinery and produce construction.
➢To acquire own and administer irrigation dams, Deep water wells and to
be Construction by the federal from the beneficiary of such as dams.
➢To engage in the rental business of construction equipment,
machinery, Warehouses and buildings.

PROJECT TITLE: MODEFING BEARING
LUBRICATION

A grease lubrication is a common workshop and garage tool used for

lubrication. And this lubrication is used for the bearings or nackle
bearing, types of tapered roller bearing that found in the front wheel.

• In a maintenance section common problem while lubricating the

bearing can be seen in most of the maintenance work shop. And they
have been using their hands to lubricate and the bearing which take a lot
of time, worker fatigue, improper lubricating and wastage of grease.
 4. OBJECTIVE
General Objective
The general objectives of this project are to solve the company’s
problem which can see in our section and to upgrade the company’s
working style.
Specific Objective
The following are some of the specific objectives and purpose
of
my project.
 Internship students will develop skills and techniques directly
applicable to their careers.
 Internships will provide students the opportunity to develop
attitudes conducive to effective interpersonal relationships.
 Internships will provide students with knowledge of
participating in formal function of organization.

The Prototypes Of The Project Done
 Working Principles Of The Project
➢ Remove to side the pushers
➢ And cleaning the races
➢ Fill the races by the grease
➢ Put the bearings on the filled races properly.
➢ Then put the pushers on the bearings
➢ And after sure the direction of the pushers pushing down the handle
➢After we pushing checking the bearings as they get enough lubrication and if there any
part didn’t get the grease repeat the process again (if we follow the order properly there is no
need to repeat the process maximumly more than twice)
➢ After we sure that the bearing is lubricated well, we have to remove the bearings.
 Result
 After the manufacturing of this machine, it gives a service for the
referral garage as our interest. Finally, I am happy to try this
project and properly functioned.
 Conclusion
 In ERA there are many problems that face the workers. From these problems I focus one
of the problems that are lubricating bearings machine Therefore, the project done
as lubricating the bearings by using some components. And this could be simplified
one problems of the company.
 Generally, this internship program helps me to develop my knowledge in many ways
especially on the mechanism of the machine, different machine element, working
principle of some part of motor vehicles. At all regarding to mechanical engineering I
got better
knowledge.
