imagine that you are running for candidacy as an SK Chairman.
Share your platform with the class.

Mechanics:
• A song will play to start the game.
• While the song is playing, a microphone
will also be passed to the class.
• Whoever has the microphone when the
song ends will be the SK Chairman,
followed by Kagawads.

Campaign
A planned set of activities that
people carry out over a period to
achieve something such as social,
political, or environmental change.

Examples:
• Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
• Buddies Against Bullying
5 Dimensions of Campaign
1. Awareness Raising- Intended to make the problem to be addressed and
known by the public
2. Research- provides the necessary knowledge to act.
3. Social Mobilization- involves a lot of different
groups.
4. Training- a process focused on a clear and specific
target.
5. Lobbying- an act to influence decisions made by
officials in the government.
Advocacy
Promoting the interests or cause of
someone or a group of people
Involves speaking or acting with the
intention of affecting or changing specific
policies, systems, or ideas

Examples:
• Children’s health and survival must be a
priority amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Types of Advocacies
1. Mass Advocacy- organized and orchestrated through large
groups (i.e., polls, protests)
2. Media Advocacy- using media as the primary means to promote
a specific cause.
3. Health Advocacy- supporting the rights of patients and
improving the community of
people who care about patients.
4. Self-Advocacy- motions taken by individuals to support their
own rights in the workplace, schools, etc.
Campaign vs. advocacy
A campaign is a time-limited effort focused on achieving
specific goals through strategic communication and
mobilization.
Advocacy, in contrast, is a continuous and long-term
process aimed at influencing policies and attitudes, relying
on research, relationship-building, and incremental
progress.
