NEEDED ITEM CLOSE TO THE
USER; THINGS NOT FREQUENTLY
USED COULD BE PUT SLIGHT
FURTHER AWAY; TIME LOST OR
UNPRODUCTIVE TIME IS FORM OF
WASTE.

• It is necessary to make sure that
everyone in the workplace knows
where things are kept;

• Keep a list of things with their
locations
• Label each drawer to show what is
kept inside

• The same principles should also be
applied in places where fire
extinguishers are located, passages
and aisles & wherever necessary,
warning signs for safety precautions,
etc;
• In supplies management, minimum/
maximum level of stocks & re-order
points should also be indicated in
order to prevent under/over stocking.
