Waiting for Godo the Play of 20th century

Summary
This text presents a part of the lecture held in June 23th, 2oo6, at the Kolarac
Foundation; it was given for 1ooth anniversary of Beckets birth. The play Waiting
for Godo offers a dramatic situation, unfinished as such, the situation which
enables and demands various readings, meanings and contents production.
Thus, in quite a specific way, it creates a communicative, understandable
and prefectly unfinished theatre performance. Waiting for Godo so becomes a
perfectly unfinished masterpiece, and serious challenge for theater authors to
put on a stage - the most precise diagnosis of human existential situation of
20th century.
