PTK Minutes-February 23rd, 2012

Call to order at 12:35pm New members introductions Prof. Ahsani announced awards for Geoff and Joana, 5 star award for chapter and Honors in action award $334 Financial Report- balance as of today $6,484, we got $640 from bake sale Leadership- trying to get mentor program going and scholarship workshop Tammy- volunteer sign-up sheet for blood drive and C4 went around. Blood Drive sign-up will take place Monday 4/9-4/12 from 9am-5pm Joana mentioned we can get better results this time with C4. Zhenia suggested we advertise and send professors newsletters, also give sign- up sheets to professors to bring to class with them. Fellowship- Orientation meetings went well. Special thanks to officers who helped out. Prof. Schmit interviewed 25 people already and has over 100 signed up for interviews By march 10th Zhenia will be getting list of new members. Next week book sale- volunteer sign-up sheet went around Polo & T-shirts will be for sale only for members. Will be sending an e-mail blast. Polos $40 and T-shirts $20. Will set a table in the hallway to sell them. Sean suggested to the shirts out at every event. Sunday 9am officers should come help set up the book sale. Everyone will meet at the courtyard where the zodiac signs are.

Sean has been writing about events. Black History Month events will be taking place- 2/29 7pm performance of Newark Chorus, looking for volunteers to help that evening

3/10 St. Patricks Day parade. Volunteers will get a free UCC hoodie. If needed transportation will be provided. Will meet at 9 am

Prom committee- will take care of music, Theme, Food arrangements suggestions are welcome.

Joana- Project with orphanage in Denville, NJ- fundraising for people other than the club, planning on spending time with kids. If interested in being part of the committee please contact Joana Costa. Will work with arts club and try to get an art professor to do a project with the kids and donating arts supplies. Will try to do it during PTK week (week of induction)
