Ang Filipino Bilang Wika Sa Matematika
Abstract
The purpose of the study is to determine the suitability of the Filipino language as a
helping tool in teaching Mathematics. The researcher accomplished the following:
observation of classes; focus group discussions and interview of selected students and
teachers; and formulated the proposed language policy for Mathematics. Based on the
data gathered, the following conclusions were formulated: (1) Filipino language is suitable
as a helping tool in teaching Mathematics (2) The teacher is able to explain important
Mathematical concepts easily in Filipino. (3) The implementation of language policy in
Mathematics is needed to determine the usefulness of the Filipino language. The
researcher recommends implementing the language policy that was developed by the
researcher based on this study.
