Mass, Tree-Growing and Fellowship Dinner: FIBECO Celebrates 47 years Founding

Anniversary

A simple yet fascinating commemoration of First Bukidnon Electric Cooperative


Incorporated (FIBECO, Inc.) milestone in serving its over 160K member- consumer- owners
(MCOs) within the coverage area. The grand event happened last May 31, 2019 at the heart
of FIBECO compound in Anahawon, Maramag, Bukidnon.

Inside San Agustin Parish Church, a morning mass marked the start of the celebration, by
way of thanks-giving for the magnanimous grace that it continually enjoys since its
incorporation in the year 1972. On such a rare occasion as this, it is right and proper to
bring in closer together employees, former pillar—retirees, MCOs, stakeholders,
management and staff together with the policy framers—board of directors of the
cooperative who have been part of FIBECO’s journey, who in one way or another helped
mold its strong foundation that has led to its astounding status as a renowned Electric
Cooperative (EC) in the country. Activities were set and ready to get engage for the most
awaited event of the year—the 47th year which culminates in the evening. The series of
activities prepared by the organizers were the thanks-giving mass sponsorship to get the day
started, followed by a tree- growing activity, the iconic boodle breakfast and a fellowship
dinner.

It has always been a part of FIBECO’s tradition that during every conduct of boodle
breakfast, all personalities of FIBECO usually gather together for the one significant event
and formed out a letter ‘C’ that signaled the countdown of the most anticipated grandest
celebration of its 50th in the next three years. The Electric Cooperative was actually founded
last May 13, 1972 supposedly, this event should have been celebrated on that day, but it was
moved because of the conduct of midterm national and local elections. Still and all, it was
successfully pulled off thus, that morning.

A tree- growing activity was made through the participation of all, venue at the mini-hydro
site within Maramag area. This practice has been consistently represented in the programs
of the coop, especially in its social cooperative responsibility (CSR) activities. In the
afternoon, prior sun- set, everyone have prepared for the biggest chill out event that night. It
was also the night of Service Awards to Employees who have exemplarily served and still in
active service to the cooperative. It was followed by a fellowship dinner and a long line of
music sessions from select local and in-house performers.

During the fellowship dinner, its general manager, Reynaldo B. Balaba, CPA expressed his
words of gratitude to the fore-founders, urged the support and unity of its entire workforce
for without their burning passion to serve and living it up with their commitment to protect
and uphold the gains of the coop, in no way possible to attain this present and future
successes of the organization as a whole.

On the other hand, Dir. Ruby S. Macabaya, the Board President of FIBECO was tasked to
deliver her message but due to her tight schedules, she was not able to join in the program
instead, the former BOD president did convey his words of thanks for the unwavering
support of the whole workforce during his candidacy and at the same to the advocacy of
FIBECO— AKO PADAYON PILIPINO PARTYLIST. Moreover, he aimed at the point
of unceasing role of FIBECO with its workforce and its increasing demands in rural
electrification and addressing the same given the present challenges and scenario.

The 47th Anniversary celebration ended with a big dance party, participated by the big
crowd that night. The 47th Anniversary has been made part of FIBECO’s greatest journey!
