Doctrine- God revealed Himself in stages. In the Old Testament he revealed Himself through
biblical signs made up of both deeds and words. He made a covenant with Noah, Abraham and
Moses. He performed great works for his chosen people and proclaimed their saving power through
the prophets’ words.
Moral- to hear the Word of God, we must read the Scripture with reverence. We must approach
it with an open and humble heart, and with full eagerness to obey the word when we hear it.
Worship- Prayer brings us into the presence of God. To listen to Him, we need to be alone with
Him. We need to free ourselves from any distractions, focusing only on Him and what He would say
to us.
Our successful way to use Scripture in prayer is to follow the ancient Christian tradition of
Reading, Thinking, praying. We first read a portion from Scripture, think about it, then respond to
God in prayer.
I- Essential Idea
For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son so that everyone who believes in Him may
not die but have eternal life for God did not send his Son into the world to be its judge but to be its
Savior.
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one goes to the Father except by me. Now
that you have known me, you will know my Father also, and from now on, you do know Him and
you have seen him.

At that time, Emperor Augustus ordered a census to be taken throughout the Roman Empire. When this first census
took place, Quirinius was the governor of Syria. Everyone then went to register himself, each to his own hometown.
Joseph went from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to the town of Bethlehem in Judea the birthplace of King David.
Joseph went there because he was a descendant of David. He went to register with Mary, who was promised in
marriage to him. She was pregnant, and while they were in Bethlehem, the time came for her baby. She gave birth to
her first son, wrapped him in cloths and laid him in manger – there was no room for them to stay in the inn.

When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome brought spices so that
they might go and anoint Him. Very early, when the sun had risen, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb.
They were saying to one another, “ Who will roll back the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?” When they
looked up, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a white robe, and they were utterly amazed!
In the Lord’s name, then, I warn you: do not continue to live like the heathens, whose thoughts are worthless and
minds are in the dark. They have no part in the life that God gives, for they are completely ignorant and suborn. They
have lost all feeling of shame; they give themselves over to vice and do all sorts of indecent things without restraint.
Life is process of continuous growth and changes. As a part of human development we encounter
failures and successes. There are many obstacles and hindrances we may encounter as we pursue
to have a better life.
This is the good news about Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It began as the prophet Isaiah had written, “ God said, ‘ I will
send my messenger ahead of you to open the way for you. Someone is shouting in the desert, ‘ Get the road ready for
the Lord. Make a straight path for Him to travel.
New Life in Union with Christ
Water – is the primary symbol used in baptism; it is the source of all forms of life; it symbolizes the Holy Spirit.
Baptism is a sacrament of initiation because it marks the beginning of Christian life. Through this sacrament, we are
reborn to God’s family. We became children of God and sharers of His Kingdom.
I- Essential Idea
I want you to know that no one who is led by God’s Spirit can say, “ A curse on Jesus!” and no one can confess that “
Jesus is Lord”, unless he is guided by the Holy Spirit.
There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit gives them. There are different ways of serving, but the
same Lord is served. There are different abilities to perform service, but the same God gives ability to all for their
particular service.

When the people found Jesus on the other side of the lake, they said to Him, “ Teacher, when did you get
here?” Jesus answered, “ I am telling you the truth: you are looking for me because you ate the bread and had all you
wanted, not because you understood my miracles. Do not work for food that spoils; instead, work for the food that
lasts for eternal life. This is the food which the Son of Man will give you, because God, the Father, has put his mark of
approval on him.”

Jesus went on to say, “ There was once a man who had two sons. The younger one said to him, ‘ Father, give me my

Religious rituals and devotional practices play a key role in the faith-life of the Filipinos, yet it shows that worship has
