 Objectives of the Program
The program aims to:
 Strengthen and update pre-
service teachers’ aptitudes
and competencies;
 Provide an environment that
will help Pre-service
teachers and answer their
questions and
misconceptions ;
 Produce well-informed and
updated teachers in the near
future;
 Develop pre service teachers
who can perform well the
tasks given to them;
 And stimulate every pre-
service teacher’s mind on the
needs of the 21st century
Rationale
We are now in the midst of
transition from the 10-year basic education
curriculum ( 2002 RBEC) to the enhanced
12- year basic education curriculum On Becoming a Teacher
commonly known as the “K- 12 Basic
Education Program of 2013”. Our
curriculum had been developed. Education
had been improved. The contents of the Updating Pedagogical Aptitudes of
subjects were advanced as well as the Pre- Service Teachers in the 21st
additional years were compulsorily
implemented. There is a need to Century Classrooms
familiarize the pre-service teachers about
the ongoing positive changes in the world
they will enter very soon. There is a reason June 1-2, 5-9 2017
to upgrade and strengthen their
pedagogical understanding after four years Room 108
of careful and rigid studying about the
concept of the teaching profession in order
to become new breeds of teachers who will
have exemplary 21st Century skills
different from that of traditional educators.
