Project: Wilmont’s PharmaDrone Delivery Revision No.: 1.0

Summary:
Wilmont’s Pharmacy awarded a project to DroneTech for the deployment of pharmacy
delivery drones throughout the San Francisco area. Only four store branches will be
initially using this innovation. Required specifications and system integration as
requested by Wilmont’s Pharmacy will also be delivered by DroneTech

Purpose:
To provide initial delivery system modernization on Wilmont’s Pharmacy’s four store
outlets with a drone product delivery process. DroneTech will also provide the drone
piloting and delivery customized systems and business process to comply to Wilmont’s
requirements.

Project Goals:
This Innovation will be beneficial to Wilmont’s Pharmacy because of its delivery
modernization and DroneTech’s business long-term relationship and future endeavors
with the client.

Project Scope Description:


DroneTech shall provide four customized flying drones to be used in four pharmacy
stores in San Francisco area. As part of the scope elements, the following shall be
completed for each drone and system requirements:
• Product Scope:

 Adapted a temperature-controlled bagging system


 Installed a bubble-type cushioning system
 Painted case with Wilmont’s corporate branding (colors and logo)
• Services Scope:

 Providing pilots for the drones


 Customization of the system to comply with Wilmont’s requirements
 System interface to Wilmont’s enhanced online order entry process
 Customer access via online entry or smartphone
 Customer delivery inquiries done electronically (e-mail, online, mobile alerts)

Primary Deliverables:
 Four new delivery drones
o Customized with Wilmonts’ colors and logo
o Has a temperature-controlled bagging system for prescriptions and
drugstore products
o Has a cushioning system to be installed on the drones for impact prtection
o Provide the pilots for the drones.
 Customization of the delivery system and business process.
o DroneTech system will have a customized interface for Wilmont’s
Pharmacy’s enhanced online registration and order entry process using
via website or smartphone
 Monthly status reports
o Presents monthly up to date project status regarding progress and budget
expenditures
 User Manual
o Providing of user operation manual of the drones for the four participating
pharmacy stores that will contain procedural information of the drone
delivery technology
 Project book
o Providing of the project book that contains all the information about the
project including the project requirements, modifications done with the
delivery system and business process, maintenance procedures, testing
of the drones and the system integration and comprehended results for
the entire project
Acceptance Criteria:
Criteria for the project success are as follows:
Drone criteria:
 Four new drones
 Each are painted with the corporate branding colors and logo
 Each are installed with Temperature-controlled bagging system
 Each have a cushion system
 Reliability on the release system clamps
System criteria:
 Customization of the delivery system complied with Wilmonts’ requirements.
 Customization of the business process complied with Wilmonts’ requirements.
 Interfaced online order process system
 Able to use online or smartphone entry to order
 Managed order approval of the drone delivery service due to restrictions.
 Security for Wilmont’s Pharmacy business information are not compromised
Initial delivery criteria:
 Not later than November 30.

Constraints:
 Project begins on January 5, and the first customer delivery flight should take
place no later than November 30 to avoid harsh weather in the San Francisco
area
 Apartment building customers are not qualified for the drone service due to
delivery issues
 The budget must not exceed US$ 1,750,000
 Ensuring that Wilmont’s Pharmacy information security, customer privacy are not
compromised

Assumptions: DroneTech will be responsible for the following:


 Drone maintenance and spare parts
 System updates
 Any damages on the drone

Key Milestones:
 Systems configuration and testing: February – March.
 Bagging system installation and commissioning: January – April.
 Cushioning system installation and testing: January – April.
 Drone exterior customization (branding): April
 System interfacing and customization with Wilmont’s Pharmacy: August
 Flight testing: September
 Initial drone deployment: October
 Project close out: November
Scope Exclusions:
 Harsh weather condition usage of the delivery drone units
 Intentional usage of the drones for other purposes than product delivery
 Drone unit damages due to exceeded weight limit capacity
 Additional batteries for the drones.
 Airport area deliveries
