Project: Drone Delivery Prototyping for Wilmont’s Pharmacy Revision: 0.0

Revision date: 18th May 2021

Purpose
The purpose of the project is to build a prototype drone delivery system of drugs and prescriptions for
Wilmont’s Pharmacies by DroneTech. DroneTech will customise their drone systems, IT interface and business
structure to develop a seamless drone delivery system. Systems, business and communications interfacing will
be done between the existing infrastructures of DroneTech and Wilmont’s. The prototype project is aimed to
ensure seamless enhancement to the existing delivery process of Wilmont’s. The prototype deployment in the
suburban area of San Francisco will test the commercial applicability of DroneTech’s drone delivery system for
Wilmont’s pharmacies. The success of the project will get Wilmont’s company a green signal to deploy drone
delivery of drugs and prescriptions. DroneTech will develop strong business relations with Wilmont’s and will
provide business stability.

Project Goals
The project will develop a prototype drone delivery system for drugs and prescriptions for Wilmont’s
Pharmacies. The prototype delivery system will not only involve new modified drones but an interface
between DroneTech and Wilmont’s and a secured IT infrastructure for flow of information between the two
organisations and the target customers.

An IT system will be established that should interface the resources of Wilmont’s with DroneTech’s flight
operations and other management systems that control and manage the drone delivery system. The processes
that handle order entry, delivery confirmation, and a mobile app on the DroneTech side need to be customized
for Wilmont’s so that customers don’t see these as two separate companies.

Wilmont’s enhanced online order entry process should be interfaced with DroneTech systems that will allow
customers in the San Francisco area to register their willingness to have a drone deliver their orders by means
of online entry or smartphone entry. Modifications will be made to direct the customers to Wilmont’s online
order system and give customer approval control to Wilmont’s.

Communications about deliveries for Wilmont’s should be carried out electronically through email, online and
mobile alerts as the customer requests. The relationship between DroneTech and Wilmont’s should not
compromise the security of Wilmont’s business information, the customer’s privacy and the proprietary
information about how Wilmont’s will use the drones for delivery.

DroneTech will deliver 4 modified drones for the protype project which should have Wilmont’s corporate logos
and colors. The required modifications include a temperature‐controlled product bagging system along with
a bubble‐type cushioning system for the customer delivery packaging in order to ensure that certain
temperature‐sensitive or breakable items are not affected by the delivery process.

The prototype project should include a residential suburban area in San Francisco excluding apartment
buildings. The project should coordinate with 4 Pharmacies in the assigned area and provide them with all the
information needed on the drone delivery technology, making sure they are fully comfortable to load products
into the drone package carrier and engage in this prototype by the time for first flight.

The prototype project is targeted with a budget below $750,000. The project commences on next January 5
and the first customer delivery flight should take place no later than November 30 to avoid harsh weather in
the San Francisco area.
Project Scope Description
The Drone Delivery Prototyping for Wilmont’s Pharmacy project includes the following Scope elements:

Administration:
The project is administered through a collaboration between Wilmont’s and DroneTech. The project needs a
proposed contract between Wilmont’s and DroneTech and a payment plan needs to be developed for the
course of the project. A legal team with members from both the organisations will be assisting this process.
DroneTech will handle modifying, piloting the drones and the delivery of the products and Wilmont’s will
handle customer approval, orders, customer requests and supply of the drugs and prescriptions. DroneTech
handled over an initial budget to Wilmont’s and is responsible for maintaining the cost of the project below
the submitted budget.
Goals:
There should be a well drafted contract considering the legal requirements of both the organisations. The
contract should be drafted around the best interests of both the organisations. The contract should be drafted
in time so that the project can successfully begin on the next January 5.
The payment plan should facilitate the transfer of services and goods between the organisations for a smooth
progress of the project.
The total cost of the project should not exceed $750,000 and the Project Manager on the DroneTech side is
accountable for managing the expenses of the project.

Modified Drones:
The project should deliver 4 modified drones from DroneTech side that cater to the specific needs of the
delivery conditions of Wilmont’s drugs and prescriptions. The drone package clamps will be tested to adapt to
the modifications in the packaging requirements from Wilmont’s side.
Goals:
The drones will bear Wilmont’s company logos and colors.
The drones should adapt a temperature‐controlled product bagging system along with a bubble‐type
cushioning system for the customer delivery packaging in order to ensure that certain temperature‐sensitive
or breakable items are not affected by the delivery process.
The package clamps of the drones should be able to handle the modified bagging system. The new package
release system must work reliably.

IT systems:
The project should deliver an IT infrastructure that adapts the existing systems such as websites, mobile apps
etc. of both the organisations to function together. DroneTech’s existing IT infrastructure will be interfaced
with Wilmont’s to enhance the customer order, registration and delivery system.
Goals:
The interfaced systems between DroneTech and Wilmont’s should not compromise the security of Wilmont’s
business information, customer privacy and proprietary information about how Wilmont’s plan to use the
drone delivery system.
The IT infrastructure should direct the customers towards Wilmont’s online order platform for purchases and
to show their willingness to avail the drone delivery system.

Communications:
The communications about deliveries for Wilmont’s customers are interfaced electronically through email,
online, and through mobile alerts as the customer requests. The 4 participating pharmacies are supposed to
be communicated with about the information needed on the drone delivery technology.
Goals:
The customers’ communications, requests etc. should be sent through the medium as required by the
customer and should be efficiently transmitted to Wilmont’s.
The pharmacies should be informed enough to be comfortable about the loading of products into the drone
package carrier and engage in this prototype by the time for first flight i.e. way before November 30th.
Flight systems:
The flight operations will be taken care of by DroneTech and Wilmont’s resources will be organized in order
to interface with DroneTech’s flight operations and other management systems that control and manage the
drone delivery system.
Goals:
Efficient flight control system will be developed which will be enhanced with the resources from Wilmont’s to
ensure a seamless delivery system.
