NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE

SOFT OPENING OF CLASSES

The Department of Education (DepEd) commended the efforts of students and

schools nationwide to help ensure the smooth opening of classes in public schools on Oct.
5.
Education Secretary Leonor Briones said the DepEd recognizes the efforts of
various students, teachers, and schools in making sure that education will be delivered to
the learners.
The Soft Opening of classes was simultaneously by all public schools nationwide on
October 1, 2020, and Del Monte National high School was one of the schools who actively
participated the said activity.

Del Monte National High School conducted the soft opening program yesterday, October
1, 2020 along with the Elementary teachers at Del Monte Elementary School open stage since
its school is still used as a Quarantine Facility for the Locally Stranded Individual (LSI), due to
the COVID ’19 pandemic.
The program started with an invocation by a multi- media presentation followed by the
singing of the Philippine National Anthem still by a multi- media. A video presentation of the
School’s Division Superintendent ,emphasizing the different Learning Modalities on the New
Normal was played .
 Division School’s Superintendent, Dr. Jeanelyn Aleman, presents LDM on- air

School’s Division Superintendent, Dr. Jeannelyn Aleman, stressed the importance on

the different learning modalities. According to her, the Radio- Based and TV- based are learning
modalities that are essential in the full swing implementation of the learning activity plan,
running the call for a national effort for “ SULONG EDUKALIDAD’, adopting and enduring
activity plan in this volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world is timely and well done. If
the GIYA modules would be distributed to the learners, the GIYA On- Air would reinforce the
instruction and serve as supplementary in learning modalities.
The attendees of the program were the teachers both in Elementary and Secondary
which were headed by its School principal. Mrs. Shirley O. Bayona for the secondary and Mrs.
Gina Procorato for the elementary. The Barangay chairman of brgy. Del Monte, Hon. Sergio
Oberez, also joined the said activity.
Chairman Oberez expressed his gratitude to the parents/ guardians who participated on
the said activity and emphasized the importance of the New Normal Education.
The program ended up with high hopes for the parents to give their full support to the
teachers as they both are the best persons in this kind of learning education.
