I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to:
a. identify symmetry and line of symmetry in a given shape and real world
examples;
b. show appreciation on the importance of symmetry;
c. complete the missing half of a symmetrical object by applying their
understanding of symmetry.
III. Procedure
To start our day, let's all stand and pray. (pupils are praying)
A.2 Greetings
A.4 Review
A.5 Motivation
(follow up question)
B. Developmental Activities
B.1 Presentation of the Lesson
-Very good!
We call this line vertical symmetry when it
goes up and down.
(show examples) (pupils will give their examples)
-Excellent!
When the line of symmetry goes left to right or
right to left, it is called
horizontal symmetry. -Horizontal Symmetry.
(ask examples)
Since you can give examples of symmetry, (will define line of symmetry)
what now is symmetry?
-Yes teacher!
-How about line of symmetry?
(give their opinion)
-Does symmetry important?
-Very good!
(will give the activities for each group)

IV. Evaluation
Draw a smiley face on the blank if the lines indicate the line of symmetry, and sad face if
not.

______3.
Write SYMMETRY if the figure is symmetry. If not, draw it again on the blank and put the
correct line of symmetry.

V. Assignment: Draw/cut (from magazines etc.) 5 pictures of the things found in your home that
show line of symmetry. Paste them in a short bond paper.
