Yes, I do. But I don’t sing in public
cuz I’m painfully shy, so most
of the time, I sing for myself.
2. When do you sing?
I sing pretty much any time that I’m
at home, especially when I’m
having a bath, or cooking, or anything
like that. Sometimes I also
find myself singing along to songs if
I’m listening to music in the
car.
3. Will you take singing lessons in the
future?
No way, I don’t see the point. I mean,
I’m not musically gifted, so a
career in music isn’t for me. As a
result, taking singing lessons
or some sort of vocal training won't
be necessary for me.
4. Did you enjoy singing when you
were younger?
Yes, I did. Way back in the day when
I was a child, I always sang
along to my parents whenever we had
parties or went to the
karaoke bar. Back then, people
always said I was completely
tone-deaf and often sang off-key, I
still enjoyed singing, though.

hình thức luyện giọng nào đó là
không cần thiết với tôi.
4. Bạn có thích hát khi còn nhỏ
không?
Có chứ. Ngày xưa khi tôi còn
bé, tôi lúc nào cũng hát theo
bố mẹ mỗi khi chúng tôi có tiệc
hoặc ra quán karaoke. Hồi đó,
mọi người vẫn gọi tôi là tai
trâu, và thường hát lệch tông.
Dù vậy, tôi vẫn thích ca hát.

Eg: Most problems in our relationship happen because of my

girlfriend. However, most of the time, I am the one who has to apologize.

Find yourself doing sth – làm gì đó trong vô thức (do something without
thinking about it)

Eg: At first, I wanted to find a girlfriend because I needed someone

to help me with the housework. And then when I finally got a girlfriend, I
found myself doing the housework for both of us. Great! It is just…great.

No way – never, of course not.

= There is no point V-ing.

Eg: What’s the point of taking an English course if you don’t do your
homework?

be musically gifted – to have a natural talents for music.

Eg:

- I will never because good at English because I’m not linguistically

gifted.
- Or perhaps because you are just being lazy.

vocal training – training your voice

Eg:
 - Chipu’s voice has gotten so much better. I guess she has taken lots of
vocal training.

back in the day = back then – at some point in the past, long ago

way back in the day = very very long ago (way = much, really)

Eg:

- Is your current boyfriend I better than your ex?

- Yes, he is way better. (He is much better)
- But how? He is not handsome at all.
- He is rich, though.

Be tone-deaf be unable to see the differences between different tones.

Sing off-key to sing in an incorrect tone

Though however
