About Zoom 
Zoom​ ​is an online remote meeting tool that more and more companies in 
the tech industry have started to use as their default online meeting tool. 

At RevoU you’ll use Zoom to receive the lectures from Instructors, and 
more. Students should have their cameras turned on whenever 
appropriate, during all live Zoom meetings. 

Be sure to download Zoom on both desktop and mobile and set up your 
free account before the first day of class 

About Slack 
Slack​ is an online communication tool used widely among Indonesian tech 
companies (ie GoJek, Traveloka but also most new startups). 

At RevoU, it is the most important and frequent way we communicate with 

Students.  

If you’ve never used Slack before, get to know it well as chances are it will 
become your default communication tool in your new company. 

Before the start of the Program, we will add you the Student Slack 
workspace and assign you to a few main channels. When setting your 
Slack avatar, use a professional profile photo, just as you would for a job. 
Also, use your first and last name on your profile. 

Slack is where most of the students interactions happens and where you 
will be able to ask additional questions to either our TAs or Instructors. 
Install Zoom on your Computer 
Download and install the Zoom Application: 

1. Go to ​https://zoom.us/download​ to the Zoom Download Center 

2. From the Download Center, click on the ​Download ​button under 
“Zoom Client For Meetings”. 
 

 
 
3. Once the download is complete, proceed with ​installing​ the Zoom 
Application onto your computer. 
4. If you do not have a Zoom account, create one using the email 
address you have registered with RevoU. 
 
 
Using Zoom on your computer: 
Before every meeting we will share with you the link via Slack and should 
also appear in your calendar invite to the lecture. Click the link to access 
the meeting. A screen to open the zoom meeting will appear. Click the 
Open ​Zoom Meetings ​button. 
 

 
 
The Zoom application will launch and you will be asked to select your 
audio conference option. Click ​Join with Computer Audio​ so you can join 
the meeting and interact with others​. 
 

 
 
You will now see a screen with all other participants in the meeting. If your 
video remains blank, make sure to click the ​Start Video​ icon. 
 

 
 
Ensure your speaker is turned on. To unmute the voice to speak, click 
Unmute​.

Install Zoom on your Mobile Phone 
Download and install the Zoom Application: 

1. Open Play Store or App Store on your phone and search for “Zoom 
Cloud Meeting App” 
 
2. After installing the app, open the Zoom app and sign in to your 
account to access all features. 
 
3. If you are on the go and do not have access to your computer, you 
can access meetings on the phone using your app. Click the zoom 
link sent to your email, slack or in your calendar and open the 
meeting using the app. 
 

 
 4. Make sure to click “Call via Device Audio” to connect and be able to 
listen and speak in the meeting. 
 

 
 
 
 
   
 
Joining our RevoU Student Slack Group 
 
How to Join Slack: 
Accept our invitation sent to the email address you registered with 
us 

1. Check your inbox for an email invitation from Slack to join the 
RevoU Student Group. 
2. Click ​Join Now​. 
3. If you do not have a Slack account, enter your details and 
click ​Create Account​. 
  

Install Slack on your mobile phone 

For iOS/ Android 

1. Download and open the ​Slack app for iOS​ / ​Slack app for 

Android​. 
2. Tap: Get​ started​. 
3. Enter your ​email address​. (We'll be sending you an email!) 
4. On the same mobile device, locate and open your confirmation 
email from Slack. Tap ​Confirm Email Address​ to open the app, 
or tap ​Sign in manually​ to enter your Slack URL and password. 
5. From the list of workspaces you’re eligible to join, click ​Join 
workspace​. If you’re joining a Slack Enterprise Grid 
organization, click ​Sign in​.
