SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN GRADE 4

(ENGLISH)

I. OBJECTIVE
At the end of the lesson the students will be able to:
1. Identify the four types of sentences.
2. Construct declarative, interrogative, imperative and exclamatory
sentences; and
3. Show teamwork and cooperation through participating in a group activity.

III. PROCEDURE
A. Preliminary Activities

3. Checking of Attendance
B. Motivation
The students will be divided into four groups, each group will be given pieces
of paper with words written in them. They will be asked to arrange the words
in order to make a sentence.
C. Presentation
The four types of sentences
D. Discussion
The teacher will be discuss the meaning of a sentence and the four types of
sentences.
Declarative – helps in making statements and ends with period
Interrogative – is simple to understand as it help in asking question
Imperative – uses in giving demand or instruction
Exclamatory – use to express deep feelings or emotion.
E. Generalization
What are the four types of sentences?
What is the difference of the four types of sentences?
IV. EVALUATION
Instruction: Read each sentence carefully and identify their function. Write DC
if it is declarative, ING if it is interrogative, IMG if it is imperative and EC if
it is exclamatory.

1. It’s a baby boy!


2. What harm did the delay cause?
3. Call the insurance agent, please.
4. Keep off the grass.
5. Watch out for the car!

V. ASSIGNMENT
Direction: Write a short narrative story about your most unforgettable
experience. Use at least 3 declarative, 3 interrogative, 3 imperative and 3
exclamatory sentences.
