KEY LOGIC TIES & LAG DURATIONS

Note: The purpose of this document is to help ensure that during the build up of the Level 1, Level 2 or the Level 3
schedule that the planner uses the following guidelines to help ensure that the key logic ties are not missed. The
logic ties shown below by no means provide an exhaustive list. The planner is expected to use the standard
engineering logic diagrams, procurement, s/c and construction fragnets to develop these schedules.

Use this document to identify any deviations in your specific schedule and then discuss/resolve them with your
group and Functional Planning

1st 90% Model Review = 1st IFC issue of P&ID's + 2 weeks (minimum)
1st Iso = 1st 90% model+2 weeks (minimum)
Guideline : A/G Iso duration (for each process unit & utility block - start with assumption of Isos
averaging roughly 200/week for LNG facility; 500/week for refinery;

Pipe Specialty Items - Add appropriate activities for Specialty Data Sheet Preparation - Start tied to
IFD issue of P&ID's + 1 Week

Electrical
A/G Electrical Layout Dwgs 1st IFC 2wks after 1st 90% model
Last IFC 6mnths after 1st IFC

Overall One Line Diag (IFD) = IFD Electrical Load List + 2 Weeks &
= IFD P&ID's + 2 Weeks

Power Transformer D/S IFA 4wks after Overall One Line Diag. IFA
MRQ 4wks from Xfmr D/S IFA

Controls Systems 1st Location plan IFC= 1st 90% Model+ 4 weeks
Last location plan IFC= last 90% + 4 weeks
Wiring Loop Diagrams=DCS FAT Complete+1 Month (minimum)

Procurement

Piling Procurement Piling MRQ = Final Geotech Report + Pile Capacity Dwgs + IFD quality MTO's

Pipe Material Procurement

(First Buy - Std. No Pre-Buy)) = 50% Model Review + IFC P&ID's
( First Buy - Pre-Buy) = 50% Model Review +IFD P&IDs

Pipe Fab 1st release for Fab of spools = 1st ISO IFC
1st Start of Spool Fab = IFC Iso's + Material @ Fab shop + 1 Month
1st delivery of spools = either IFC Iso's + 5 Months or Material to Fab Shop + 5 Months (whichever is later)
Final delivery of spools = last ISO IFC + 6mnths
Note: Shorter lead times for fab and delivery will require analysis

Steel MRQ tied to completion of control estimate (MTO available)

Steel 1st Release = 1st Detail Design IFC + 2wks
Steel 1st delivery = 1st release + 4mnths (check against project lead time)
Steel last delivery = last Detail Design + 4mnths (check against project lead time)

Construction:

Site Prep Start 3 mnths before piling start

For non-piled areas, based on FID and site access permits;

Piling Piling start = 1 Month after piles IFC + 3 months after start of site prep (min)
Pile Fab = 2 months before piling start for concrete piling; for steel piling procure as pipe & follow std procurement cycle
Piling contract BEA = 3 months before pile fab

Camp Construction Carry out craft bed requirement to provide camp build up schedule
Develop EPC schedule as part of Early Works (This activity may lie on the critical path)

Concrete Start = Later of 3mnths after 1st Concrete IFC (duration 18mnths) or w/UG Pipe
= + Rebar detailing drawings; + anchor bolt availability; + batch plant with mix design

U/G Pipe Start 2 weeks after U/G IFC; + U/G Pipe fab & delivery
Allow 12 to 14 months for the U/G program for 24-30 month construction program.

Steel Allow 5+ months from IFC drawing issue; 1+ months from material delivery; 3+ months from start of 1st concrete;
Start Later of 5mnths after 1st IFC or 4 mnths after 1st Concrete (duration 18 mnths)
Resolve fireprooging sequence (i.e. before installation or after installation)

Mech. Eqpt. Start Set Mech. Eqpt. - 4 months after 1st Concrete
Finish 6 months after last major eqpt. Delivery on site.

A/G Pipe Area wise activity -Start to start with either rack erection or eq installation activity - minimum 2 month lag
after roughly 70% of pipe for the area is delivered;

A/G Elect. Start 4 mnths after A/G pipe start

Finish 1mnth after A/G pipe

Instruments start with S/B pipe start

Control Room Ensure Control Room HVAC and Raised floors are ready before DCS is delivered to the site.
=+ ensure power and fiber optic backbone are available

Heavy Lift Start is dependant on a firm plan for the delivery of first and last heavy lift equipment delivery
And availability of the Heavy Haul Road, and Heavy Lift cranes and multiaxle transport vehicles
Finish is Delivery of Last Heavy Lift equipment +2 weeks (minimum)

Field Erected Tanks Start is 4 mnths after 1st Conc. (duration 11mnths)

Fireproofing/Insulation Steel fireproofing can start while steel is on ground

else, Start is 6mnths after A/G Pipe start
Finish is 2 mnths after A/G Pipe
For LNG plants cryo insulation is to be completed before start-up.

Hydrotesting Show Hydrotesting pack preparation activity as predecessor to start of Hydrotesting

Start Hydrotest pack preparation activity 3 months prior to starting hydrotest

Lube Oil Flushing Show appropriate duration for oil flushing, + temp power

Mechanical Completion FF with Loop Checks

For Medium and High Voltage loads - will require permanent power
Pre-commissioning Utilities = Permanent Power + 2mnths
Energization=Utilities pre-commissioning + 2 months
