Permissions
As my mum worked there, I was able to ask her when the rooms I need for filming are
available. She had told me that the main 2 halls are undergoing construction so I will only be
able to use the kitchen, hallway and nursery room if needed.
Suitability / shots for production (scene numbers)
Shots: 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29
Lighting Information:
fluorescent bulbs along the roof, Large window
for sunlight. There is also a door leading to
outside, so when that is open it will let even
more sunlight in
Sound Information:
In the community centre there is currently
constant construction work going on, but this is
at the other side of the building so It shouldn’t
affect me too much
There is also a road just outside the window I
will be using for sunlight
Power Information
The kitchen has 6 x 250v sockets that are
available.
Hazards
There is an oven and stove in the kitchen which
could cause a fire
There may be cables on the floor that can
become a trip hazard
Solutions:
I will be using the fluorescent lights that are in
the kitchen, as well as have the window
shutters up so that sunlight comes through
those. I have been given permission and shown
how to lift the window shutters if needed. If
this still isn’t enough, I have some external
camera lights in my bag if needed, but I think
the sunlight and fluorescent lighting should be
enough.
Solutions:
Even though I don’t think that the construction
workers will be loud enough to hear from the
kitchen I will still be recording two minutes of
silent ambient audio in the room because if
anything happens during the production like an
alarm/drill etc. I will be able to easily replace
the background sound, this will also be useful in
case Louder trucks and cars drive past.
Solutions: I don’t currently need any power as
all my equipment is running on NPF batteries
and AA batteries or other rechargeable
batteries that I will have already charged ahead
of the shoot, I will bring all necessary chargers
however just incase they either run out of
battery or I forget to charge something.
Solutions:
For these to be accessed I have to ask the
caretaker to turn the gas on, which is
something I do not plan on doing so there
shouldn’t be a fire hazard
Warn all crew if any cables are a hazard.
