The project proposal must be word processed and Section 3 - Evaluation

presented under the headings listed here: (Approximately 50 words)

This section provides an opportunity for you to explain

how you will reflect on and evaluate your work, as both
an ongoing activity and at the conclusion of the
project.

You should describe how you intend to record

your decision-making and how you will document
changes to your ideas as the project
progresses. The evaluation section should
reference your stated aims and
be reflective and analytical rather than a
description of actions completed.

When working in collaboration with others, you

should comment on how this may impact
either positively or adversely and outline the
steps you can take to minimise disruption to your own
progress.

350 word limit of the proposal:

Project action plan and timetable:

This section provides you with an opportunity to

outline your planning and organisation over a
period of weeks and the activities you will need to
carry out in order to successfully complete
your project in the agreed time frame. The more
time and thought you give to
planning your project, the more successful it is
likely to be.

It is important that you consider how you will

balance ambition, time and realism in the
realisation of the project. You should also include
what you are going to do, how you will do it
and by when. Remember to include: time spent
sourcing materials and other resources to conduct
research, feedback from tutors and peers, and
when you will carry out independent study.

Bibliography (Harvard Format):

This section provides an opportunity to record the

initial research sources, both primary and
secondary, that you intend to use.

Your sources of research should be as wide

as possible and could include libraries,
galleries, books, magazines, films, computer games,
websites, blogs, social media, radio
programmes, archive material etc. Where
appropriate, you should use the Harvard
system of referencing. The bibliography should be
continuously updated as the
project progresses.

Section 1: Rationale
(approx. 100 words)
Over the last 7 units I had learnt lots of new skills, I learnt how to make a top-down game in
gamemaker, I improved lots of my skills with photoshop and graphic design. Before starting
this course, I had a basic understanding of photoshop, but couldn’t do that much with it, my
skills have improved greatly. I especially like my Yorkie poster I made. Also, in gamemaker
we make a title screen for our game. I really enjoyed making this and I can’t wait to get onto
really making a game for the final project.

Section 2: Project
Concept
For the project I’ve decided to make a game all about weather, I haven’t decided if it’s going
(approx. 200 words) to be 2D or 3D yet, but the main concept is that you are going to be exploring this world with
very sudden weather changes. You’re going to have to adapt and learn to navigate each
weather type.
I’ve made a mind map for each weather type so that I can look back and get ideas when I’m
creating them in engine.

Because of the short amount of time, I have for my project I have decided to not include
weather as a main mechanic in my game, as much as I would like to because it would
add so much depth to the gameplay. If I did add it would be something outside of the
demo.

I’m going to try and make it using Unity instead of gamemaker, I really want to push myself
by using Unity, it’s a way more advance piece of software compared to gamemaker but I’m
more comfortable with it since I’ve used it a bit before.

Section 3: Evaluation
(approx. 50 words)
Throughout my project I update my Weebly with what I’ve been doing week by week. I will
regularly create blog entries talking about my work, I will also ask people to look at my work
so I can get user feedback on what to improve on.
