A.Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson
What are the different ways that we must do before, during, and after an earthquake?
B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson
Have you heard about Mt. Pinatubo’s eruption last July 15, 1991?
What happened to the people? to their properties?
What are the best things to do during this calamities?
C. Presenting examples/ instances of the new lesson
Look at the pictures children . These are some of the many volcanoes we have in the Philippines.
Who can name some and where can you find them?
Watch the video presentation of Mt. Pinatubo volcanic eruption. Ask something about the video.
D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills
A.Do Now
Pupils will be assigned to specific locations around the room and instructed to do their
individual assignment sheets silently.
B. Instruction
1.Pupils will be reoriented of the group work rules they compiled in a previos lesson.
2.Pupils are given activities according to their level of readiness
.
a. LOW–pupils will work with the teacher on identifying clues on precautionary measures
of before , during and after volcanic eruption.

b.MODERATE – pupils are given handouts about precautionary measures before , during
and after volcanic eruption.They are tasks to make a poster about what they have
read.

c.HIGH-pupils will view a video to learn more about precautionary measures before, during
and after volcanic eruptions.Afterwhich ,pupils will present a Role Play.

C.Group Activity
Pupils will work together with their group. Pupils will self- monitor their behavior and will
be prompted to refer to the group work rules when a pupil breaks a rule.

D.Summary
Pupils will come back into groups; share out their learning and journal their responses.
