FEELING BLESSED
Lanelyn C. Alonsagay

Been asking myself,

things now I can’t hardly believe,
people are hungry and sick,
because of unseen enemy that attacked so quick.

The big slice of bread on the table,

is cut by mother to suffice us all,
the whole and long piece of sardines before,
is cut shorter to accommodate us all.

The long pencil of mine,

is divided into two for me and brother Kline,
my short pants is stretched longer,
to fit my growing legs because there is no other.

But no matter how hard life is,

i am grateful I still exist,
there are more reasons to be pleased,
thankful to God for I am blessed.
