PUSO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

REFLECTION PAPER

Modular distance learning features individualize instructions that allows learners to use self-learning

modules (SLM) in print or in digital format, electronic copy which ever is applicable to the learner. Learner

under distance modular learning use other learners’ resources such as learner materials, textbook, activity sheets

etc. I find it very different from what we are doing prior to the Covid 19 Pandemic occurrence, which is the

face-to-face learning modality.

However, in order not to deter our educational system, the Department of Education do its’ job by

implementing the learning continuity plan which covers various learning modalities. Here in Puso Elementary

School, distance modular learning was the modality chosen due to lack of internet connection and through

series of information dissemination using posters in public places and survey forms, and with the help of LGU’s

and other stakeholders the implementation of distance modular learning in our school for me was implemented

successfully, though there are some trials and hardships we encounter along the way yet we overcome it through

the cooperation of parents in helping their children in their studies and getting their modules on time, we find it

as a nice gesture on their part as partners of our school in this time of crisis in our educational system.

On the other hand, there are some who cannot really cope up with the lessons but through constant

communication with the parents and aiding them on the lessons in the module, they try their best not to be left

behind and I am very grateful for them.

So overall I find the Distance Modular Learning Modality implementation in Puso Elementary School a

success.
