Action Points
1. Reconnect with nature: the environment inspires
a story steeped in natural and responsibly sourced
materials. Autumnal colours will be key.
2. Ancient knowledge inspires design: reimagine
historical and mythological references from the past
for a new era, as designers look back to move
forward. Antique and timeworn metals will be
fundamental to reflect this trend.
3. Celebrate arts and crafts: look to fairytale and
folkloric influences to highlight the provenance,
heritage and craft of global and local communities.
Collaborate with artisans to create modern
keepsakes.
4. Redefine vintage: vintage silhouettes will be
revisited to define future trends, as second-hand
resale markets redefine the way we consume
fashion, and demand grows for sustainable
solutions. Hand in-hand with this movement, we will
also see a modern 'make-do-and-mend' aesthetic
emerge, where #repurposed and deadstock
materials are combined to create exciting design
opportunities and new revenue streams.

Ancient Artefacts
The concept: A growing appreciation of ancient knowledge will
see worldly historical and mythological references come to the
fore, as designers look to the past to inform the future.
Materials: Repurposed and timeworn metals will be key for this
story. Combine antique textures and raw finishes to reflect the
timeless beauty of ancient artefacts. Softer materials such as
embellished suedes and leathers will emerge for footwear, and
straw and hemp will transition for bags, inspired by Rosie
Assoulin's Hellenic- and ceramic-influenced designs.
Details: For jewellery, mythological coins and trinkets will be a

Sublime Nature

Vo gue Arabia @t hed o uglaspo o n

The concept: An urge to reconnect with nature and protect the

natural environment will see inspiration come from rugged
landscapes, sublime scenery and wild heritage themes. @ballut a.sho es

Materials: Natural materials are a pre-requisite for this story.

Use freshwater pearls, innovative glass and ceramic elements
across accessories and jewellery categories. For footwear, use
responsibly sourced leather and non-leather alternatives. Look
to Portuguese brand Balluta, which creates statement
sustainable shoes that exclude animal-derived materials.
Colour: Drawing on the appeal of nature and nostalgia,
combine green and brown to update transitional deliveries, and
use warm golden tones for a fresh autumnal update.

Modern Mending

t heshiny sq uir r el
By Walid @r ent rayage

The concept: This story explores a modern 'make-do-and-mend'

philosophy, as climate urgency becomes a primary
consideration for fashion brands.
Materials & details: Repurposed materials and thrifted details
define this look, as seen at By Walid, which uses embroidered
remnants of antique textiles across its clothing, accessories
and footwear.
Innovation: For soft accessories categories, be inspired by
Rentrayage, which creates one-of-a-kind pieces made entirely
from unwanted second-hand clothes. The brand's
multicoloured checked wool poncho was crafted in the US from
a mixture of plaid panels derived from vintage pieces.

Neoclassical
The concept: The romanticism of the Neoclassical era is
reimagined in this story, which is inspired by the architecture,
sculpture and decorative arts from this period.
Materials: Velvet will be a key fabric for accessories categories,
and a great complement for solid structures made from
antique metals. For jewellery, focus on statement
sculptural profiles in timeworn and raw finishes, reducing the
manufacturing effects of chemical treatments. Introduce
classic tortoiseshell, updated through architectural forms.
Details: Use wire scroll shapes and ribbed markings on

cylindrical forms to create seasonless modern classics. Look
to Sophie Buhai's jewellery designs for more inspiration.

Future Vintage
The concept: Revisit vintage silhouettes to define future trends
and drive slow fashion, as resale and rental markets
transform the way we consume fashion, and consumer
demand grows for sustainable fashion.
Innovation: NST Studio is a Miami-based accessories brand
that creates made-to-order items using original materials.
Materials & details: Move away from obvious retro themes and
look to timeless, era-less vintage references to drive this story.
Revisit archive collections for hardware inspiration, and use

Folklore

@les_ st o r e
Vo gue Arabia Lo ewe

The concept: An appreciation of global and local arts and

crafts underpins this trend, heavily influenced by traditional
folkloric beliefs, customs and stories.
Materials & details: Vibrant brocade and velvet are key
materials, and stylised fantasy florals will also sit well in this
trend. The sentimental folk-influenced fairytale collections by
Russian brand Les' show how keepsake pieces can be made to
be handed down as heirlooms.
Innovation: Look to cross-industry collaboration to represent
the heritage and craft of communities and artisans. A great
example to reference is Loewe, which created a collection
inspired by the work of British ceramicist William De Morgan.

Off-Grid Survivalist

@mat chesf ashio n @y pr o ject _ o f f icial

The concept: Changing ecological and economic climates will

see designs focus on survivalist resourcefulness, inspired by
off-grid living. Products in this story are rooted in classic Met al Magazine

military and utility themes.

Materials: Refresh footwear and accessories categories with
durable, practical and sustainable materials such as recycled
nylon, camouflage-effect canvas and natural rubber. The Stella
McCartney x Hunter footwear collaboration is a key reference.
Details: Modular functionality will be an essential element for
designs. Products with multiple uses, pockets, or survivalist
straps will feed into an 'end of more' consumer mindset.
Tubular structures will also be key.
