Fire Alarm System Certification: Fire Alarm System shall be certified by


the manufacturer that the designs and materials used in its installation is
meeting the following standards:
NFPA 13 Installation of Sprinkler Systems (Automatic Sprinkler Systems
SAES-M-100
A1 Handbook)
Sec. C3
NFPA 13R Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems in
Residential Occupancies up to and Including Four Stories in Height
NFPA 14 Standard for the Installation of Standpipe and Hose Systems
NFPA 70 National Electrical Code (NEC)

As Designed - Fire Alarm System and accessories shall be in accordance

A2 with the Saudi Aramco-approved project-specific design drawings,

diagrams, schedules, lists, databases and associated documents.

Fire Detection System Commissioning:


All fire detection system testing shall be witnessed by a designated
representative of the Area Lead Fire Prevention Engineer / Loss

Department. At least 10 business days prior to commissioning of any new
fire alarm system, the following deliverables shall be provided to the Area

Before pre commissioning, panel sections shall be opened up and

Dust shall be removed using a vacuum cleaner or rags as appropriate.

Access to Electrical Equipment Behind Panels Designed to Allow


Access: Access to electrical equipment shall not be denied by an SAES-B-014

accumulation of conductors and cables that prevents removal of panels, Sec. 3.2
including suspended ceiling panels. (NEC 760.21)

Mechanical Execution of Work: Fire alarm circuits shall be installed in a SAES-B-014

Cables and conductors installed exposed on the surface of ceilings and

Verify that cables are attached to structural components by straps,


staples, cable ties, hangers or similar fittings designed and installed so as SAES-B-014

Fire Alarm Circuit Identification: Fire alarm circuits shall be identified at


terminal and junction locations in a manner that helps to prevent SAES-B-014

unintentional signals on fire alarm system circuit(s) during testing and Sec. 3.2
servicing of other systems. (NEC 760.30)

Fire Alarm with Power-Supply Circuits: Powersupply and fire alarm


circuit conductors shall be permitted in the same cable, enclosure or SAES-B-014

raceway only where connected to the same equipment. Sec. 3.2
