Dear Sir,
Detailed Engineering Solution (DES) has resources to undertake both small and large projects in
civil infrastructure, commercial, industrial and building sectors with an experienced team of
principals overseeing project quality and delivery. We are involved in structural design &
development of several multi-storied RCC as well as steel structures around Dhaka and outside of
Dhaka.
We have the experience and resources to undertake seismic evaluations of buildings .including
seismic building assessments in RMG sectors for various clients. We are involved in the design
and construction management of seismic upgrades to deficient buildings to improve their
earthquake strength.

Scope of Work for assessment of existing sub-structure:

01) Preparation of As Built Drawings:
As-built drawing is a set of drawings containing architectural floor plans and drawings of
structural elements of an existing factory. An as-built drawing also includes the dimensions, geometry,
and location of all components of the project. Architectural as built drawings commonly include details
such as walls, doors, windows, slab outlines, room size, floor occupancy, building section and elevation
etc. The structural as built drawings shows column layout, foundation layout, column reinforcement
details, Foundation reinforcement details and details of grade beam.
In order to prepare the above mentioned documents from scratch, our engineers have to visit the
project several time. Take measurement of each and every structural element their relative distance.
Foundations are explored to find out the type of foundation. Rebar Ferro scan and rebar expose are done
ensure the number and diameter of the reinforcement
02) Material Testing:

A material testing is a well-established technique used to determine the physical and mechanical
properties of construction materials and components. Several material testing techniques are adopted for
engineering assessment. They are described as follows
Concrete core test:
To ensure compressive strength of existing concrete of column minimum three set (four nos/set)
cylindrical concrete core specimen should be collected, Compressive strength test should be preform
from BUET, DUET or MIST.

03) Structural Analysis by Computer modeling:
Structural analysis is the determination of the effects of loads on physical structures and their
components. Structural analysis employs the fields of applied mechanics, materials science and applied
mathematics to compute a structure's deformations, internal forces, stresses, support reactions,
accelerations, and stability. The results of the analysis are used to verify a structure's fitness for use, often
precluding physical tests. Structural analysis is thus a key part of the engineering design of structures.
In order to find out the above results a three dimensional computer generated simulation model of the
structure is prepared by using suitable structural analysis software like ETABS, STADD Pro, SAP, SAFE
etc. Then load is applied over the structure as per as built condition and floor usage. BNBC guide lines
are followed at the time of load application. Also lateral load like earthquake and wind forces are applied
as per BNBC guide lines. Advanced structural analysis method like Dynamic analysis, Response
spectrum analysis, P-Delta effects, Modal analysis, Push-over analysis are performed if required. The
selection of analysis method depends on type of the structure and building code requirements.
04) Detailed Retrofitting Drawings (if required):

If the structural members in consideration are not sufficiently strong to carry the required
loadings strengthening of the members are required. A retrofitting drawing includes layout of columns to
be retrofitted, Section of retrofitting columns, Layout of shear connector and shear connector details.
Retrofitting beam layout, details section and elevation of beam retrofitting, Slab retrofitting layout and
details. If the footings or foundation is not adequate details layout and section of retrofitting may include
in the retrofitting drawings.
Other than the above documents the retrofitting drawings includes specification of retrofitting
materials, chemicals used for retrofitting works, strength of plate and welding specification for steel
structure retrofitting. Sequence of retrofitting construction and safety measures during construction period
may include with retrofitting drawings.

Scope of Work for proposed super structure:
Architectural Design and Drawings

1 Plans, 3D Views, Elevations, Sections & Details with Fittings and Fixtures. (Machine Layout plan
should be provided by client) we will also prepare local authority drawings. Architectural Design will
be supervised by a 10 years experienced architect. We will create a thorough list of project
objectives, measure the affected spaces, draw base plans, develop schematic design options in
2-D and 3-D, and review options with the Owner. It includes the following steps:
Master Plan:
Architect will measure existing condition and create base drawings in 2-D and 3-D for use
during design
Master plan layout (2D, 3D) (Before//After If any change) with A1 print copy.

 Programming Meeting: Architect will review a checklist with the Owner to collect complete
information regarding desired size, function, and aesthetic of new or renovated spaces.
 Architect will create initial design options and review with Owner in person.

Payment Schedule: Fee will be payable by the client in installments are as follows:

Terms and Condition:
1. Design Work will start after appointment as Consultant along with the 1st Installment.
Payment. This may be regarded as the Work Order.
2. All rights of the design will be reserved by DES
3. Client will Co-operate to abide by the Rules & Regulations of Local Authority
4. Design and material requirement may be discussed at the time of Design Concept,
Development. But no major Change would be done after Final Design.
5. For any measure /decision regarding design/material/construction without concern of
Architect/ Consultant, Architect cannot be held responsible while proper compensation
has to be given.
6. All Design Work will proceed effectively subjected to timely and full Payments as per our
given Payment Schedule.
7. Works not mentioned in the above proposal and structures not mentioned in this proposal
will be charged separately.
8. Consultant will not be responsible for omission/mistake made by contractor.
9. All rates is excluding VAT &Taxes.
Proposal Validity:
This proposal is valid for 60 days from the date of issuance.
