AN ORDINANCE ADDRESSING THE DIRT/MANURE SCATTERED BY PET DOGS BEING

WALKED BY RESIDENTS/TRAINERS ALONG THE STREETS OF BARANGAY LOURDES

WHEREAS, a lot of residents of Barangay Lourdes have experienced stepping on dirt/manure

excreted by pet dogs being walked by their owners/trainers along the streets of Barangay Lourdes
and surrounding areas;

WHEREAS, dogs are toilet-trained in such a manner that they habitually excrete their waste
on grounds familiar to them. To be more exact, they smell the ground on which they habitually
defecate before doing so;

WHEREAS, some of these pet dogs being walked habitually defecate on the gateways of
residents of Barangay Lourdes thereby causing the owners/visitors of these residences to
accidentally step on the manure or cause the tires of the vehicles of said owners to roll on said
waste;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE SANGGUNIANG BARANGAY

OF BARANGAY LOURDES IN SESSION DULY ASSEMBLED;

SECTION 1. All residents/trainers who walk the dogs should be responsible in

recouping/gathering the manure of said dogs so they do not pose as a nuisance, unsanitary object or
cause for disease. Those who walk their dogs should carry dustpans, containers or small plastic bags
to catch their pets’ manure and dispose these properly when they get home;

SECTION 2. The Barangay Council will issue billboards/posters to act as warning to people
who are walking their dogs along the streets of this barangay.

SECTION 3. Owners/trainers caught not taking care of their dogs’ waste shall be charged a
FINE of:

Five Hundred Pesos (P 500.00) : First Offense.

One Thousand Pesos (P 1,000.00) : Second Offense
One Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (P 1,500.00) : Third Offense and
Other subsequent offense/s

SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon the approval of the City
Council.
