Overview: This week was exciting and overwhelming at the same time. I got to get familiar with

the facility and meet many of the staff in various departments. Everyone was friendly and I am

looking forward to the rest of the semester here. There is not much to say about this week and

what I experienced on my first two days however, I did realize that I do need to ask a lot of

questions about things that are happening since there is a lot of terminology that I have not heard

of being used in this environment. I also went to Huddles which is where hospital staff (mostly

team leaders and others who have big roles in overall operations such as the CEO). They get

together for. A quick 10 minute talk to discuss staffing in each department and to make address

safety, and other hospital concerns and give quick updates to everyone. It provides the team

 leaders and staff an opportunity to discuss or bring to light things that need to be addressed and

action items are given to aid in smooth operations.

Thursday: Attended morning huddle with hospital leaders at 9:15 AM then went on a tour of the

facilities and met multiple members of the Patient Relations office. I also did a huddle with the

core office group today. I went on to meet different leaders in the hospital today.

Friday: Morning huddle at 9:15 We did another tour of the hospital however, we did it. Without

a key card since I don’t have one and need to know how to get around which was a bit difficult

since the hospital is quite big. I am not sure how long it will take for me to figure my way around

but I am oping it will be soon and that I will continue to have opportunities to meet more

individuals at this hospital.
