Muzzleloading
Massive Muley
Cale Swanson, on leave from
the U.S. Navy for a little rest,
relaxation & recreation here in
Glasgow, took advantage of
Montana’s first muzzleloader
heritage season which opened
December 11th and continues
until this Sunday, December
19th. The new season was
established by House Bill
242 which was passed by the
Montana legislature during the
2021 session. Cale bagged this
200-pound brute on Tuesday.
After recently graduating from
Recruit Training Command in
Chicago, he’s driving out to
the Naval Station Norfolk, in
Norfolk, Virginia. It is the world’s
largest naval station, with the
largest concentration of U.S.
Navy forces through 75 ships
alongside 14 piers and with 134
aircraft and 11 aircraft hangars
at the adjacently operated
Chambers Field. Cale has been
assigned to be aboard the USS
San Antonio (LPD-17), her home
port. Once she pulls out, Cale
will be on the high seas around
the globe for five-to-six months.
“I’m looking forward to it,” he said
with confidence, “It should be a
nice cruise.”
