Are these values based on your ranking define your life and the kind of life
that you have?
Yes. It only shows how I value God more than anyone and anything else,
because I believe that God is our Creator and that I owe my life to Him. I also
value my family more than I value myself because I love them more. I am the
type of person who can sacrifice even my life for my family. They say, “You
cannot give what you do not have.”, so I value myself next to my family. For me
to be able to love my friends and other people, which are also part of my
objective values, I first need to love myself. This includes self-respect, self-
compassion, self-happiness, etc.
With my subjective values, I think I value money a lot, because I know the
reality of life. I know how it feels to not have money to buy even the most basic
needs to live. I know that in order to survive, we need money. I also know how
hard it is to earn money as I have experienced it before. Without money, you
cannot do many things. I also value my time with my friends because those are
one of my happiest times. I forget my problems when I spend time with them and
I can share my experiences and relate to them. I think I value photographs of me

with the people I am with because these are evidence of memories. Some events
and encounters are once in a lifetime but with photographs, I can go back to that
event or encounter and remember the exact feelings over and over again.

Are there things you value so much which are not supposed to be regarded
as such, because they are subjective values and not objective values? Are
there things you value less or placed at the bottom of your hierarchy of
values though by their nature they are supposed to be on the top, for they
are objective or spiritual values? Yes/No. Why?

None. I think my ranking is just right considering the classification of

objective and subjective value. The top three that I value the most are objective
values while the other three are subjective values. However, in my subjective
values, I think other people would not understand how money is more important
to me than the time I spend with my friends, especially that I was also hesitant to
place money above time with friends. But from my experience, even spending
time with my friends requires money. I need money to go to their place or money
to feed them when they go to mine, money to buy food when we are out together,
money to buy tickets if we decide to watch movies, etc. I even experienced not
being able to go with them because I do not have money for my fare or for the
food. Therefore, I have decided to put money above it. Like my answer to the
previous question, without money, you cannot do many things.

What did you learn?

From this activity, I learned that it is quite hard to rank the people and the
things that you value in your life because they have a very thin line of differences.
I wanted to place everyone and everything at the top but that is not how life
works. In life, we need to have priorities and we should be smart in knowing what
we need to value the most because this is a reflection of what kind of person we
are and what kind of life we are living.
