Activity 2
Make a collaborative sculpture using household items or things you can easily use around you. Take a picture of it in two
different angles or it can be a series of pictures telling a story. Create a title for your work. Take three pictures of you while
doing the artwork in progress. Put it in a power point, save as PDF and upload in schoology. Check the pictures below for
examples.
Work as big as you’d like and take up as much space as you feel your sculptural installation needs. Barbara
Hepworth became interested in the spaces in between things versus how objects are placed. Looking at the
negative space between objects in your sculpture, what shapes or forms do you notice? Do your objects frame
a piece of sky in an interesting way? How do you move through your sculpture? Do different members of your
group move differently through and around it? Did you learn unexpected or new things about the materials, the
sculpture itself or each other during its creation?
