COVID-19 AND ONLINE LEARNING

Coronavirus disease 2019 or Covid-19 provides many lessons and changes, so that some people
have difficulty carrying out activities. Apart from that, this also has an impact on fundamental policy
changes in the world of education in the country. So that the government issued a policy to regulate
online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, the government issued a circular on the Implementation
of Education Policy in an Emergency Spread of the CoronaVirus, containing about Online Learning.

In this pandemic era, online learning is very unsatisfactory. Before the pandemic teachers taught
in classrooms and after the pandemic all switched to online learning and could only see online via
gadgets. This policy has an impact on changing the behavior habits of teachers and students, learning
also cannot be maximized properly. In this pandemic era, I think changing the way of learning and
teaching is important. First, changing the way students and teachers teach and learn is a home policy.
Second, teachers and students must be able to change styles, methods of learning and teaching. Third,
the teacher must be able to instill respect and help each other with other students who are experiencing
difficulties. Fifth, teachers must also instill a spirit of democracy in their students. Sixth, the meaning of
the message or information must be clear and useful. I think online learning has its own pros and cons,
The bad thing is, in online learning I have difficulty doing assignments because in some cases I don't
understand the explanations given by the teacher. And assignments that were not given on time so that
sometimes I had to check over and over again. And the good is, because with this online learning
teachers and students don't need to always come to class, and it's more practical by just opening their
gadgets.

In this pandemic, the function of the family in personality formation is very important, this is the
time for families to return to giving time to pay attention to children at home, not to reduce the working
time of parents in the family but to set aside more time for children's continuity in learning. Families
often give threats to children, angry attitudes in order for children to learn. Children feel uncomfortable
because they are forced to learn. It is time for the family to provide teaching that shows the ways
western countries make full use of the time for children in developing personality and academics.

So, online learning in the covid-19 situation has its own pros and cons. The role of parents and
families to monitor children is very important.
