1. Why do we need to know about Recreation?
Recreation is an activity of the body and mind which gives relief from tension and fatigue.
When we continue doing a work or performing an activity regularly and continuously for some
hours, it gives us physical and mental fatigue and strain. Recreational activity relieves us of the
feeling of fatigue, restores our energy and promotes a sense of joy. Without recreation, life
would be dull and miserable. Leisure is that time which man has acquired for himself, in which
he has the freedom to do as he pleases. One must be educated to use his leisure in worthy
pursuits. Recreation means leisure activities chosen by an individual for the purpose of
improving his life and living. These activities are of a constructive nature. They are not time-
consuming but time-using. They are healthy-physically, mentally and socially.

2. How do you think recreation can help you in enhancing your fitness?
Taking part in recreational activities, especially outdoors, can greatly improve physical
health. People who take part in park activities such as walking, hiking, or skiing, schedule
fewer office visits, maintain lower body fat percentages, and have lower blood pressure and
cholesterol levels. It regulates the fitness of the mind and the body (Physically and
Mentally).

3. What values can be fostered as you and your family engage and participate in recreational activities?
Team sports require coordination,communication, and teamwork. These three values
can be fostered by your family whilst engaging yourself in sports like basketball or other
sports.The love and strong bond between your whole family and of course, your trust,
happiness, and closeness to each other.
