Missed it by that much

Stevie Hartwell goes for tag on Havre's A. Olson
at home plate, but the throw was just a whisker
late. The Scotties led 10-4 after the first inning
of the 2022 season, but the Ponies would chip
away, leading 16-12 going into the bottom of the
fifth in this high-scoring affair. Stevie's solo home
run in the had the Scotties trailing 16-13 going
into the final inning. Havre would add another
run in the top of the 6th and go on to win 17-13.
Glasgow is in Huntley Project today where they
will play the host Red Devils and Stillwater. On
Monday the Scotties host Glendive at 5:00.

Sen. Steve Daines said the following statement in a release
from his office: “President Biden has once again resorted to
tapping into the nation’s oil reserve to try and cover up the
ramifications of his disastrous anti-American energy policies.
These desperate moves are not the solution—investing in
American energy production is, and that includes oil and
gas,” Daines said. “Biden needs to stop appeasing the woke
green activists and get oil and gases leases going again.”

his office: “Lowering energy costs for Montanans will take an
all-the-above approach, and President Biden’s decision to

Wrestling program excelling in G-Town

Have you ever wondered why the Glasgow Scotties
are so successful in high school wrestling? It's because
of the excellent Glasgow Wrestling Club.. This is the
feeder program for our high school program.
Look at how well the Highlanders have done this
season. They set some impressive
records at the state and Montana
Open tournaments. They had a club
record 24 top six placers and five
champions. The wrestlers had a taste
of what it was like to participate at
the Billings MetraPark where there
were a record 2,324 grapplers at the
Open.
Just in case you missed it the
Glasgow Wrestling Club champions
crown last weekend were Olive
Marks, 37 pounds and Rygen
Gamas, 52 pounds in 6U girls,
Saunten Gamas, 81 pounds, 10U
boys, Aiden Aune, 62 pounds, 12U
boys, and the Scotties high school
grappler, Shalynn Pedersen won the
126 pound 18U girls title.
Highlanders girls won the Team
AAU state championship. Glasgow
battled 54 clubs with 302 girls
participating. The girls also won the
"10-man championship", winning
the inaugural Walt Egger Award.
The boys finished second
overall in the large team race against
feeder programs for Class AA, A and
B-C. The state tournament featured
74 clubs and 1,180 wrestlers. Glasgow finished second
in the 10-man championship for the famous Bobby
McKinley Award.
Glasgow set a club record with 53 state tournament
participants, breaking the old record of 51 in 2018. The
Highlanders had record 13 state champions and 32
state placers.
State champions girls included Marks, 35 Tot;
Taryn Sundeen, 45 Tot; Collins Flaten, 50 Tot; TenLea
Sundeen, 40/45 Bantam; Piper See, 60 Bantam;
Kennedy Flaten, 60 Midget; Khloe Kaufman, 85
Midget; and Pedersen, 120 Elite.
On the boys side Tate Lehner, 45 Bantam; Murdock
Pattison, 60 Bantam; Taden sundeen, 75 Midget; Khye
Games, 138 Cadet; and Damien Nesbit, 170 Elite.
Glasgow has seven wrestlers joining the Montana
squad that will participate at the AAU National duals
in Iowa April 8-10. Middle school boys includes Gamas
and William Kirkland for A
Team, and Ethan Engstrom,
C Team; high school girls,
Pedersen, A Team; ninth and
10th grade boys, Michael King,
and 11th and 12th grade boys
Nesbit and Kyler Hallock, A
Team.
Good luck to those individuals.
Now we'll see how many of
these youngsters will participate
in the high school program.
You probably will see some
Flatens follow in the footsteps
of Jason, Brenner and Flaten,
all state champions. And with
Glasgow having a high school
girls program I think we will see
more girls joining that program.
Some of these youngsters may
opt to play basketball, but I feel
will some continue with their
wrestling career once they get
into high school. That is why
our Glasgow Scotties are so
successful and why the Scotties
have won 14 state championships
and have crowned 74 individual
state champions. Glasgow has
had some win multiple state championships.
Craig Hallock won in 1970-71-72, Byron Hallock 77-
79, Trent Holstein 84-85, Rocky Thompson 95-96,
Brady Flaten 96-97, Mark and cory Johnston 200102,
Nathan Hopstad 02-03-04, Leo Pattison 06-07, Myles
Kittelson 08-09, Matt Reyling 16-17, Colten Fast and
dylan Nieksens 19-20-21.
Glasgow had had one 4-time champion. Luke Zeiger
did it from 2009-10-11-12. He was 46-0 in 2010.
Glasgow seventh girls basketball team won the District
2B championship. Hopefully they can continue that
when they get into high school.

An atheist became incensed over Christmas holiday April 2, 2022 from 2 - 4 PM

no holiday to celebrate. The case was brought before a judge.
After listening to the long, passionate presentation by the
atheist's lawyer, the judge banged his gavel and declared,
"Case dismissed!"
The lawyer immediately stood and objected to the
ruling. "Your honor, how can you possibly dismiss this
case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter, and many
other observances. Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur, and
Hanukkah. Yet, my client and all other atheists have no such
holiday!"
The judge leaned forward in his chair and simply said,
"Obviously, your client is too confused to know about, much
less celebrate, his own atheist holiday!"
The lawyer pompously said, "Your honor, we are
unaware of any such holiday for atheists. Just when might
that holiday be?"
The judge replied, "Well, it comes every year on exactly
the same date. Psalm 14:1 states, 'The fool says in his heart,
there is no God.' Thus, if your client says there is no God
then, according to the Bible, he is a fool. April Fool's Day is
his holiday. Now, get out of my courtroom!"

Disappearing Money
Disappearing money? No it's not
from illegal theft that your money is
disappearing down Alice's Rabbit
Hole. You didn't leave your wallet on
the bus and someone used up your cash and
credit. In today's world and with today's government
administration the bulk of your money is leaving this
country and going to foreign places instead of staying
here and helping Americans.
Your money is leaving here in leaps and bounds
going to help people who shouldn't be here in the first
place and are here illegally. They're taking American
jobs and drinking American water that, incidentally is
also leaving us in rapid decline.
Money is going from your pocket directly to the
deep pockets of the very people you depend upon to
whom you deliver a vast amount of your paycheck in
order to be able to keep your family warm in winter and
cool in summer. In northeastern Montana we depend
on Montana Dakota Utilities for heating and North
Western Electric and NorVal for our electrical needs.
In defense of the utility provider, when the power
goes out in a 40 below snow storm the power people are
out working to restore power so we don't freeze to death
in our own homes. If your town has multiple gas leaks
MDU will come in and replace faulty gas lines. They do
a job and provide a service.
But that can only go so far before it becomes a
monopoly with no one to answer to. “We raise prices
because we can” seems to be the attitude among the big
corps. However we seem to have a safe-guard. People
who are elected from each of the five utility districts in
the state. People who are there to look out for the best
interest of the citizens who pays for the services. People
who rely on your votes to keep them in their cushy desk
jobs.
They are the Montana Public Service
Commission (PSC).
Seems these very people have let us down as shown
by the enormously outrageous 52% increase in your
MDU bill.
January to March 2020: 92 days of MDU cost me
$284.71 or an average of $94.92 per month. I could live
with that. However, in 2021 my average monthly use
jumped to $131.52 or $394.56 for 91 days.
This year, citing that Wuhan Virus as culprit and
also citing the people MDU purchases gas from, the
company made notice that our bills would be 52%
higher than last year. A52% increase!!
My monthly bill went from $131.52 to $231.54
(almost half my social security check). $694.64 for the
three months of Jan, Feb and Mar.
A MDU spokesperson told me that there are
government programs that can help. “Government
Program” to me sounds an awful lot like government
Welfare and I have never been a fan of that. When
possible I make my own way. With Joe Biden's forgetting
about Americans and causing gas prices to go ballistic I
have taken advantage of Medicare's paying mileage for
doctor trips.
My pernt here is this: The aforementioned Public
Service Commissioners are responsible for looking
out for our interests when a utility company says they
need more of our money. I've read their “What We Do
For You” statement. It's a load of BS in my opinion.
The statement says that the commission will scrutinize
closely the request from the utility that wants a raise and
make their decision wisely and in the best interests of
both parties.

Especially when the government is loathe to give social
security raises of 1.5%!
