‘It’s a Wonderful Time’ to be in Glasgow
It’s a wonderful time of the year for everyone
including Doug Stebleton, who has been coming
from Hollywood back home for Christmas vacation
on an annual basis to spend time with family and
friends. But this one is rather special because
he has a couple of book signings lined up for his
historical/fictional novel, “It’s a Wonderful Time”. If
you recall, his book was featured in the November
4th edition of the Buzz. The book involves time
travel back to the settings of the movie “It’s a
Wonderful Life” — Doug’s favorite movie of all time,
which happened to celebrate its 75th anniversary,
being released on December 20th, 1946. Doug

Central to say hi and got a few posters printed to
hang around town. He will be at the Loaded Toad
this Friday, December 31st from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00
p.m. His second book signing will be at Sam &
Jeff’s on Monday, January 3rd from 4:00-7:00 p.m.,
where he will now doubt do a little dining on some
Eugene’s Pizza which he grew up on. He says the
book has been selling well at Barnes & Noble and
online at Amazon and hollywoodtimetravel.com.
But be sure to attend one of his book signings and
to say “hello”; he’s still the same Doug Stebleton
that graduated from Glasgow High School in 1983!

What a phone-baloney!
Then there’s this John Thune, Republican U.S.
Senator from South Dakota who is whining that he isn’t
going to campaign for another term in the Senate. His
main reason? He feels the Republican Party is paying
too much attention to Donald Trump for 2024. Waaa!
I just sent an e-mail to Thune asking him what is more
important to him....his dislike of Trump or his (Thune’s)
ability to help the Republican Party right this sinking
ship. I’m not expecting an answer. The taxpayers of this
country have paid his salary for 18 years. Taking an
average per year Thune has been paid $2,700.000 over
the years. And that doesn’t count all the perks. Sure, for
a family man this is not the best job in the world what
with the 2,000 miles separating him and his family but
he knew all that before he applied for the job.
