If I caught you cheating, then?

Yes sir, vividly clear.
Are we always clear with that class?

Alright. Before anything else, please pass

your assignment. Pass it in front of you.
We find it easy sir.
How was your assignment class? Do you find

Good to hear that.

Okay! To test if you really absorb our 1, 2, 3

And group 3 will be at the right side.

Mechanics:
1. Form a line with the group at the back
2. The 1st students in the line will answer
the question no. 1. If he/she get the
answer, he/she can step forward. The
students who losses the questions will
remain to his/her spot.
3. The next questions will be answer by
the 2nd student of the leading team and
the students in the previous question.
4. Repeat the process until all members
passes the line(goal).
5. Choose the letter and the words within

associated with circle, let’s now talk about the
fraction or the sector of the circle.

3. Developmental Activities
1. Lesson Proper/Fixing Skills

Anyone have an idea to what a sector of a

circle is based on the illustration?

Sector of a circle is the red one. It is a fraction

of the area of a circle where the area is
B C
proportional to the central angle.

That is correct. A sector is like a “pizza slice”

of a circle that is region bounded by an arc of
the circle and the two radii to the endpoints of
an arc, or just a fraction of the area of a circle.

The area of the sector is proportional to the

central angle. In other words, the bigger the
central angle, the larger is the area of a circle.

There are two ways to find the area of a Cases to be considered in finding the area of a
circle: circle.

2. Generalization
What have you learned in our discussion? We have learned about the sector of a circle in
which the sector of a circle is the region
bounded by an arc of a circle and the two
radii to the endpoints of an arc.

In finding the area of the sector of a circle, we

can use the three (3) step rule:

Step 1:
𝑚𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑜𝑟
=
360°

Step 2: Area of a circle:

𝐴 = 𝜋𝑟 2

𝐴𝑠𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑜𝑟 = ( )(𝜋𝑟 2 ),

clarifications. Let us have some group

have to pick the question and answer it.

Since a pizza has a total of 360°, we can say

IV. Evaluation

A. Define sector of a circle in your own understanding. (5pts)

B. Illustrate and find the area of sector of a circle.
1) In a circle P, the radius is 17cm. If the measure of the arc CD is 63°, what is the area of
the sector ACD?
2) Balmond bought a pizza as a present for his best friend’s birthday. Each slice of a pizza
has a radius of 9 inches. It forms an angle of 30° at the center. Find the area of the slice.

V. Assignment

1) The radius of a circle is 8 feet. What is the area of a sector bounded by a 135° arc?
2) If a circle has a sector with an angle of 60° and the diameter of 4, what is the area of the
sector?
3) Elijah and his friends ordered a pizza for dinner. When their dinner arrived, they noticed
that it had an 18-inch diameter and that pizza had 12 slices. What is the area of the slice
pizza? If Elijah had 3 pieces, how many square inches of pizza did he consume?
