I. Objectives: At the end of the lesson the learners are expected to:

b. Express their beliefs and conviction and make a stand on a material viewed

A. Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of: Philippine literature in the Period of
Emergence as a tool to assert one’s identity; strategies in listening to and viewing of
informative and short narrative texts; word relationships and associations; informative
speech forms; and use of direct/reported speech, passive/ active voice, simple past and past
perfect tenses, and sentence connectors.
B. Performance Standard: The learner transfers learning by: showing ways of asserting one’s identity; comprehending
informative and short narrative texts using schema and appropriate listening and viewing
strategies; expressing ideas, opinions, and feelings through various formats; and enriching
written and spoken communication using direct/reported speech, active/passive voice, simple
past and past perfect tenses and connectors correctly and appropriately.

Gone are the days that you solely communicate in a face-to-face manner.
A. Introduction: Gladly, you are now in the era that your thoughts could be expressed not just
verbally but also digitally. It is very important that you express your thoughts
carefully and responsibly. For a 21st century learner like you, it is a must that you
utilize these platforms in welcoming thought processes. As you enhance your
viewing skills in perceiving, examining, interpreting, and constructing meaning from
visual images, you will master the skill of expressing your thoughts as you are
exposed to multimedia. After going through this module, you are expected to
express your beliefs/convictions based on a material viewed (EN7VC-IV-i-16).

Our beliefs determine our actions, and our actions
determine our results. If you’re not getting the results you desire, your
beliefs may deserve some examination. Your beliefs are the core of your
results. Life and success are both easier and more consistent when your
beliefs are supportive of the things you want out of life
Beliefs
 Is something that is considered true and correct.
 A person can believe in various things such as cultural, personal faith, morality or
values. It expresses viewpoints, but it is not based on facts or other pieces of
evidences. A belief is also an opinion, which is why it cannot serve as the basis for a

Example:
1. In my personal view, corona virus makes us separated from others because of social
distancing.
Beliefs are very personal ideas and cannot be rejected because they express an opinion.
Also, these beliefs are not mandatory to change completely with new experiences

CONVICTION
 Is something that an individual.is convinced of.
 To be convinced, you need to obtain all the related information. Based on the
information that the conviction is built, a belief changes with time and new
experiences, yet, a conviction remains the same.
Example:
1. In my personal view, it is necessary to follow social distancing to ensure safety for
all.
 Conviction is more complex than belief as it becomes a point of view of the world.
Learning Task #1: “Infographics”
Directions: Study the given infographics about Protective Measures against Corona
Virus. Identify if the sentences are considered convictions or beliefs.
___________1. I believe that we have to wash our hands for at least 60 seconds with soap.
If no soap is available, use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
___________2. In my opinion, it is better to wash our hands every 10 minutes.
___________3. From my point of view, throwing used tissue into closed bins immediately
after use helps prevent the spread of Covid-19.
___________4. I think nowadays, it is necessary to avoid mass gathering and crowded

Learning Task #4: “Forecast! Forecast! (10 points Performance Rate)
Directions: Create a short Vlog about “Filipinos Beliefs and Superstitions” but before you
get started with the vlog you need to follow the steps by steps procedure below:
Procedure in starting/making a video vlog:
1. Make a draft of the introduction and content of your vlog in a clean sheet of paper
2. Begin your introduction using any of the WH-Question
3. Write the description of the word “beliefs” and "conviction” which include your own
ideas and understanding of its difference prior to how you understand it during our
class discussion.
4. Then once you have enough information and ideas for your vlog presentation start
recording your self-vlog.
5. Lastly, upload the finished output of your video recorded vlog to our google
classroom on due time/date. “Happy Tasking!”
