Core subject description: the course introduces the learners to the basic understanding of media and information as channels of communication and tools for the
development of individuals and societies. It also aims to develop students to be creative and critical thinkers as well as responsible users and competent producers of media and
information.
Culminating performance standards: the learner produces a living museum or electronic portfolio or any other creative forms of multimedia showcasing his/her understanding,
insights, and perceptions of the different resources of media and information.

You are a newswritter for an online news portal. Your executive producer assigned you to a story in indigenous media and information
resource to inform all netizen. You are to interview an elder of a certain community . Your task is to produce a news feature using the interview
and this will be uploaded in the the news portal. The news will deal about relevant concepts that you know about indigenous knowledge and
indigenous media. Your audience are online users who visit the news portal for their news consumption. The newswriting must adhire to the
principles of lead writing, interviewing, quotes, AP style, headlines and ethics.
