III. PROCEDURE
Teacher's Activities Pupils' Activities
A. PREPARATORY ACTIVITIES
 PRAYER
-Before we start let’s have a prayer.
-Who wants to lead the prayer? (One of the pupils will lead the prayer.)

Father God, as we start this new day for new learning,

we ask for your guidance.
Lead us all the way. May you let us see through your
eyes, listen through your ears, and speak with your
mouth. Be with us as we explore the world.
Give us the heart to love and be kind to one another.
Please watch over all our teachers, children, and
families. In Jesus’ name. Amen
 GREETINGS
-Good afternoon, Grade VI! -Good afternoon, teacher!
-How are you today? -We're fine, thank you! How about you?
-I'm good, thank you.

 CHECKING OF ATTENDANCE
Class, I want you to get the objects that you see in your
home that represents solid figure. I will give you (The students will participate on the activity)
1minute to find the objects.

Class, I will check the attendance first. Tell the name of

the solid figure that you have get earlier as I call your
name.

- ENERGIZER
(Using a PowerPoint presentation the teacher will show
picture of square and the pupils will count how many
square they see in the picture. )

-I have here a picture then you are going to count how

many squares do you see in the picture. You have 30 -(The students will participate on the activity)
seconds to count them all.
-Yes ma’am
-Is it clear class?
-How many squares -40 squares ma’am
do you see in the
picture?
-Very good! Let’s find out how it becomes 40 square.
(The teacher will play the video how it becomes 40)
B. DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES
 DRILL
(Using the PowerPoint presentation, the teacher will
show pictures of different shapes in a playroom and the
teacher will have a short story in line with the pictures
being showed)

This is Nathan’s room for playing his mother asked him -Teacher I’ve seen different toys and it has different
to arrange and cleans his toys. He has sleeping tent, shapes
dice, toy bus, coin bank, whipping top and a ball.

-What have you seen in the picture?

-Sleeping tent – pyramid
(Great it has different toys with different shapes.) -Cone – top
-Dice – cube
-Based on the picture, can you give at least one toy and -Toy Bus – rectangular prism
identify what solid figure it represent? -Coin bank – cylinder
-Ball – sphere

-The last lesson that we tackled is all about solid

figures.
 REVIEW
-In mathematics, what is the last lesson that we - Solid figures are three dimensional figures that have
tackled? width, length and height. They have faces, edges and
vertices.
-What is a solid figure?
- The Prism, pyramid, cone, cylinder, and sphere

- What are the different kinds of solid figures can you

give one?
Correct!
It seems that you are already know the last topic that
we discuss.

-Yes ma’am
 MOTIVATION
(For this activity the teacher will become a tourist
guide.)

-Before we totally move on to our topic. I will tour you

around the world.

-Are you ready grade 6?

- Good day tourists! I’m Hiezel your tour guide for
today and now where
going to explore
Mumbai, India.

a glass sphere. imagined for the jebel ali free zone in
dubai, the ‘technosphere’ building is a concept that
explores the technologies needed for a scheme of this
scale and volume. The circular form would be wrapped
in an outer layer of glass.

-What do you think the solid figure that cybertecture

will represent?

-Very good! It represent sphere because the shape is

round.

And now we will pass in London were we can see the

US Embassy

The architect of U.S. Embassy is KieranTimberlake,

the the said state department envisioned a new embassy - The solid figure that represent by U.S. Embassy is a

relationships. It also aspired to set a new paradigm in
embassy design by representing the ideals of the
American democracy—transparency, openness, and
equality—and drawing on the best of American
architecture, engineering, technology, art, and culture.

-What do you think the solid figure that U.S. Embassy

will represent?

-Very good! U.S. Embassy is an example of rectangular

prism because it has with, length, and height.

The next itinerary is in New York were we find the

Twin Tower or the World Trade Center.

- The solid figure that represent by World Trade

Center is a rectangular prism.
This building will
become the fourth and
final skyscraper at the World Trade Center in Lower
Manhattan, New York City. Standing at 1,340 feet, it
will be the third tallest building in the city, 436 feet
shorter than One World Trade Center. Acclaimed
Danish architect Bjarke Ingels said of his creation: 'It's
like playing Twister with a 1,300-foot high-rise'
-How about World Trade Center, what do you think the
solid figure that will represent?

-Very good! World Trade Center is an example of

rectangular prism just like U.S. Embassy it has with,
length, and height.

Welcome to Egypt, were now here at Al Giza to

witnessed the beauty of the great pyramid.

- The solid figure that represent by Great Pyramid is a

pyramid.

The Great Pyramid of Giza (also known as the Pyramid

of Khufu or the Pyramid of Cheops) is the oldest and
largest of the pyramids in the Giza pyramid complex
bordering present-day Giza in Greater Cairo, Egypt. It
is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient
World

- What do you think the solid figure that Great Pyramid

will represent?

-Very good!
For the last country that we visit is Italy, were we can
find the leaning tower.

- The solid figure that represent by leaning tower is a

cylinder.
This landmark is arranged directly behind the basilica.
-Yes ma’am
At the tallness of just about 55 m starting from the
earliest stage, dividers are no less than 13 feet wide at
the base and continue taping and needs to go straight up
to the top you’ll have the capacity to observe that they
gauge pretty much 2 feet in width.
-What do you think the
solid figure that leaning
tower will represent? -He used different tools
-Very good! like drill, saw for cutting and I think meter stick
Did you enjoy our tour?

 ACTIVITY plywood is equal.
(Using a PowerPoint presentation the teacher will flash
a short video of a carpenter that makes a cabinet.) -To make sure that all the plywood is intact with each
other.

-What are the tools that the carpenters used?

-I think no ma’am because the edge is not intact.
-Based on the video, what do you think is the most
important thing that the carpenter should do?

-Why do you think size is important in doing a cabinet?

Very good!
- If we combine these pieces of wood we call it

- If we combine these pieces of wood what do we call it
now?

-What do you think represent by this pieces of wood?

 ANALYSIS
-From these pieces of wood, what is net?

(The teacher will show the nets of each solid figure)

When we are going to build a nets of a solid figure we -It has 6 faces ma’am.
need to count the faces of a solid figure. For example is
the cube it has 6 faces and those faces are all squares. -It has four congruent parallelograms ma’am and two
congruent polygons.

How many faces does the

rectangular prism have? - When one of these faces connected the figure was
formed as a rectangular prism.
-How about the congruent parallelograms and
polygons?
-It has two pairs ma’am
-One ma’am

-The vertex formed once

the sides of the triangles are connected.

-When one of these faces connected, what figure was

formed?

-In a pyramid, how many pairs of congruent triangles?

-Circle
How about parallelogram?
-Two ma’am
When the vertex formed?
(The teacher will show the nets of rectangular pyramid -It has one rectangle for its lateral face.
and how it is form as a solid figure.)

-What is base of a cylinder?

-Circle ma’am
-How many circular bases does it have?

-How about for its lateral face?

(The teacher will show the nets of cylinder and how it

is form as a solid figure.)

1. Cone
-What is the base of a cone?
(The teacher will show the nets of cylinder and how it
is form as a solid figure.)

2. Rectangular pyramid

 FIXING SKILLS

-How many rectangles and squares you are using in
making nets of rectangular prism?
-I use one rectangle and two circle in making nets of
a cylinder.
-What polygons did you use in making rectangular
pyramid? -When I make nets of a cone I use triangle and circle.
-How many triangles and square did you use in making
nets of a rectangular pyramid?
-I use one triangle and one circle in making nets of a
cone.
-How about in making nets of a cylinder, what
polygons did you use?

-So, how many rectangle and circle did you use in

making nets of a cylinder?
