Islamic Music

Miminsad= a dance song, a chanted as people walk before the altar.


Kulintang= gong based ensemble, indicates high social status.
Dabakan= a single-headed Philippine drum
Bebendil= a single narrow-rimmed, used as the time keeper of the Maguindanao

Non-Islamic Music
Lumad= a visayan word for native, it refers to non-Christian and non-Muslim ethnic
groups of Mindanao.
The music of Lumad includes a wide repertoire of sounds performed for various
occasions.
