Sir/ Ma’am,
The University of Alberta has already deemed me worthy of a place in their Masters of Science in
Internetworking program for Fall 2020, and now I seek support from the Government of Canada to grant me a study
permit to pursue the same. The program is scheduled to commence on September 1 2020, and will continue for the
duration of 2 years.

BACKGROUND:
Personal
My father is a Senior Manager at the Oriental Bank of Commerce, an Indian Public Sector Bank; while my mother
is a homemaker. I have two elder sisters, both in the health industry. The eldest is a Senior Resident Doctor in a Delhi
Government hospital and the other is an Assistant Medical Superintendent in Max Healthcare.
Academic
I completed my Higher Secondary Education from KC Public School before moving to B.N. Model Senior
Secondary School to complete my schooling in 2012. Shortly after, I enrolled in a four-year Electronics and
Communication degree from HMR Institute of Technology and Management affiliated to one of the prestigious
universities of India Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi.
Professional
Post my under graduation, I was selected by HCL Technologies Pvt. Ltd. through campus placements and I began
working with the organization as a Senior Analyst for North American client Direct Energy from July 12 2016 to August
31 2018. I then joined Altran Technologies as a Network Associate Engineer for Cisco TAC.

PURPOSE OF STUDY:
Gaining knowledge about the miscellaneous technologies has widened my knowledge base to great extent. My
curiosity and enthusiasm to study more about technology has always been a huge driving force for my career. To
become a skilled professional, I need to gain profound knowledge about the subjects. I want to pursue higher studies in
the field of Networks to achieve my goal. Since I am already cisco certified Network associated this course will provide
me an overall experience on different network devices from Router, Switches to Data Center Servers.I believe that I can

have a bright future career by enhancing my knowledge with the courses that involve designing as well as implementing
different networks and then further plan for Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert certification in multiple domains. I
would be able to learn global standards in this field and become aware of the competition worldwide, which will
facilitate me to make a significant contribution in my field.

WHY CANADA:
Canada needs no introduction when it comes to breaking the rules of traditional pedagogy. My research into the
education systems around the world revealed that the universities in Canada are some of the best universities that
provide rich quality of education. By extension, a degree from a Canadian university is considered of a great value to
employers around the world, especially India. Moreover, reputed Indian universities do not offer the specialized course
that I wish to pursue in Canada. But irrespective of the program, the quality co-op programs, internships, and access to
state-of the-art facilities is something I cannot hope to get in my home country. The Canadian soil boasts of a strong
reputation of churning professionals and entrepreneurs who are making global impact and I look forward to finding my
own instincts in an international setting.
I am also aware of the supportive policies put in place by the Canadian Government that is favorable to
international students. Welcoming policies and friendly people assure me that my time in Canada will be safe, secure,
and extremely fruitful. Starting from health care to security, Canada takes all the necessary measures to promote safety
of their students and even the people around. I wish to interact and know the multicultural environment and learn as
many perspectives as possible.

WHY UNIVERSITY OF ALBERTA

University of Alberta’s strong traditions coupled with intensive, yet, upbeat training has churned many
professionals. It will be the perfect place for me to nurture and fine-tune a spirit of technological breakthroughs. Getting
the opportunity to study with the best of intellects across the globe along with a diverse peer group, I will gain an
informed yet edgy perspective on network technologies. The quality of education will also make me ready for the highly
competitive job market. The practicum part of the curriculum is a huge factor that motivated me to apply for this course.
Reconciling your practical training with business practice is a must in this field and the course provides just that.
I seek to upskill for my career goals and a degree from University of Alberta will place me with the right kind of
erudition, diversity and professionals in order to forward-hone my goals in the long run.

FUTURE GOALS

I want to carve a niche for myself in the Indian tech-sector, and I believe an education abroad can help me
accomplish that goal. With a degree that would be valued by Indian companies, I am certain of securing an enviable in a
big tech-oriented Indian organisation. Apart from massive scope, it is also familial duties that align all my future goals
with India. I want to come back to India and work in big organizations so that I can gain the widest range of experience
as possible in the short term. In the long run, I wish to leverage government schemes like Digital India and Make in India
to start my own information technology company and settle down in India.

FINANCE AND STAY:

My finances are as follows:
12800 CAD as Tuition Fee for the First Year
3500 CAD as Non-refundable Program Fee
10,000 CAD as GIC

Therefore, I place my request before Canadian High Commission to consider my application for student visa.
