Case Study: A Challenge for Quality

 If you are part of the senior management team of Reliance Control Systems, how will you

convince the CEO that implementing the quality standards of ISO 9000 will solve the

organizational problem and will result in achieving a greater market share for the company?

If I will be part of the senior management team of Reliance Control Systems, I will

convince the CEO by first, explaining to him that ISO 9000 is the international standard that

defines the requirements for a Quality Management System where businesses use this to

demonstrate their ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and

regulatory requirements. As the problem stated above, the board of directors wants to see a

concerted effort to improve the company’s competitive posture. Then, I will ask the CEO to

spare a short time for me to discuss that having the quality standard will lend credibility to

produce good product and services. I will tell him that implementing the ISO 9000 will solve the

organizational problem and will result in achieving a greater market share for the company. As

one of the benefits associated with ISO 9000 certification, it can increase marketability. ISO 9000

is one of the highest certifications that provides businesses with heightened credibility to

current and potential customers. An ISO certified company denotes a consumer perception that

the company brings quality to their customers which helps increase customer retention and

acquisition. If there is a good quality of product and services then in that case the company will

be more competitive in the market.
