1.0 Purpose
The purpose of this document is to provide a written procedure which explains the
restriction of Sick Persons in the Production Area, to ensure the healthy working people
inside production thus preventing the environment and maintaining the specified
conditions.

2.0 Scope
This procedure is applicable to all the Sick Persons suffering from contagious diseases, any
non contagious serious illness and Persons with open Lesions, entering in the production
area including Workers, Officers of different Section/Departments and Visitors.
3.0 Terms and definitions
Terms Definitions
Contagious Diseases The spread of disease from person to person.
Non spreading diseases with serious life threats
Non contagious serious illness
like high grade fever, epilepsy etc
Non spreading mild problem like Headache,
Non contagious mild sickness
Body aches etc.
Open lesions Infectious and non infectious wounds.
4.0 Responsibilities
• Manager Production: i-To restrict the entry of sick persons in the Production
Area.
ii-To ensure the medical checkup and subsequent fitness reports in case of
Contagious diseases.
• Section In-charge: i- To make sure the restriction of personnel inside Production
Area suffering from some contagious diseases, non contagious serious illness and
personnel with open lesions.

ii- To make some alternate arrangements for personnel suffering from
non contagious and mild sickness to avoid any accident.
▪ Administration Department i- To make arrangements for necessary medical
checkups.
ii- To make arrangements for medical aid in case of any emergency OR accidents
during working hours.
iii- To make proper record of personnel suffering from contagious diseases OR any
other serious illness and their subsequent fitness reports.

5.0 Environment safety and health precautions


Management should make proper arrangements for the medical checkup and emergency
medical aid to ensure a healthy working environment.
6.0 Procedure
▪ Sick workers in case coming to the factory, immediately inform their Section In-charge.
▪ Section In-charge evaluates the seriousness of the sickness and takes necessary action.
▪ In case of mild non-contagious disease, the worker is deputed in the area of less laborious
job.
▪ In case of any person suffering from contagious disease or any non contagious serious
illness; the Section In-charge informs the Production Manager and Administration
Department for necessary arrangements.
▪ In case of open lesions the worker is restricted to enter the production area, however in
case of any non-infected minor cut the worker is shifted to the area where there is no
direct exposure to the product or starting material.
▪ In case of any serious illness OR accident during working hours, the Section In-charge
immediately provide the First Aid and inform the Manager Production and administration
department for necessary action.
▪ Officers suffering from contagious diseases, any infected open lesions and any other
noncontiguous serious illness avoids entry to Production Area.
▪ Visitors suffering from contagious diseases or any infected open lesions are restricted to
enter the Production Area.
