LET’S DANCE! This activity was to develop skills to deal with stress through
dance movement, and social interaction and connection. The songs used in this
activity categorized in to four: slower music for warm-up (Dahil Sa’yo by Inigo
Pascual); little beat more upbeat (Better when I’m Dancing by Megan Trainor);
dancing songs (Can’t Stop the Feeling by Justin Timberlake); and closing song
(Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Ben & Ben). After which, the speaker emphasized
that the energy and how we regulate our bodies affects others; the importance of
paying attention to how bodies feel; and dancing is one of the ways we can express
ourselves and regulate our feelings.

Let’s Sings! The facilitator let the participants sing because singing helps
destress and promotes relaxation. It captures/expresses unexpressed emotions and
enhances self-esteem. It helps person get in touch with self-energy, a centered
place within through sound; helping gain mastery of feelings at a neurobiological
level by being given the opportunity to make choices. It helps wake up long-term
memories & restore executive brain functions and soothes and reduces stress
reactions.

Space Preparation! The facilitator taught the teachers about the space
preparation especially on physical space. He emphasized that it is necessary to
establish this space to offer the students the physical and emotional safety to play,
discover, and learn and to contain overwhelming and chaotic feelings.

LET’S PLAY! The facilitator introduced one of the activities of psychosocial

support which is through play/games. The facilitator emphasized that through
play/games, it promotes social interaction, cultural exchange and physical activity.
It also promotes creativity, imagination, develops problem-solving, language skills,
collaboration and self-confidence.
