OPERATION & MAINTENANCE OF AIS HT PANEL

1. Purpose

This procedure provides detailed information on the process of Operation & Maintenance of
HT Panel .

2. Scope / Area

Applicable for all AIS HT 33 KV AIS Panels at various locations

3 Requirements:

Safety Gears ,& PPE’S Lock 0ut Tag out, Hand gloves ,Earthing
Rod , PPE’S , Earth vcb

Tools/Equipment Multimeter ,
Vacuum cleaner /Air blower
Megger
Tool kit contains all required tools
Torch

4.Preventive maintenance of HT Panel .

4.1 Before carrying out the maintenance

1.Take the necessary permit

 Safety work permit issuing authority will be the station incharge (Rajesh power /GIFT
Manager ) . If Both are not available then General /Shift Engineer will issue the work
permit after discussion with the Station incharge

2.. Ensure that Lock out Tag out process has been completed.
Concern/affected/interrelated departments are communicated and required
PPE’s has to be used before starting the preventive maintenance.

4.2 Stop Procedure :-

1 Put off the respective 66KV transformer breaker ,isolator from SCADA /BCU /LCP
2 .Put off the Incomer breaker 01 & Bus coupler .
3.Switch off all the mcb’s & AC /DC control Supply
4. Rackout all the HT board breakers ,Bus PT’s ,
5.Ensure there is no back feeding of supply
6 Do the lock out and tag out .
7. Discharge the bus with bus earth vcb or manually with the Earth rod
8. Start doing the maintenance activity.

4.3 Start Procedure :-

1 Return the safety work permit after the work is over .

2 Collect all tools and tackles from the maintenance place & ensure no tools & tackles
left inside the Panel.
3.Put ON all the control mcb’s & Restore the AC/DC control supply
4. Put Incomer breaker 01 & Bus coupler.) ,Bus PT in service position
5. Switch ON the respective 66 KV transformer breaker ,isolator from SCADA /BCU
/LCC
6.. Check the voltage at the respective incomer of the Panel meter .
7. Switch ON the incomer breaker and check the respective bus voltages
8.Rack in all out going breakers .Switch On one by one .

5.Maintenance Procedures
Yearly Checks for HT Panel .

a) Clean the panel internally & externally, it should be clean.

b) Check control & power connections, it should be tight.
c) Check any overheating of lugs / cable, ensure no overheating marks present.
d) Check tightness of main busbar and Bus coupler
e) Check earthing for tightness.
f) Check the vermin proofing of the Panel.
g) Check Heater & thermostat operation.
h) Check the status of ON/OFF and emergency Push buttons.
i) Check I.R. value of the bus bar with 5 KV Megger. ( Phase to Earth & Phase To Phase )
Before removing Bus & Line PT/PT fuses.
j) After Meggaring plug in the PT/PT fuses.
k) Take trial of Electrical ON-OFF and spring charging of breaker at TEST position.

Record all the testing parameter values and do the entry in the check sheet
