Apply a preload torque of 65 Nm gently and then remove, The residual angle of Pivotal suppor shall be noted as datum position to establish a reference for angular deflection. Apply atest torque of 130 Nm in the same direction as the preload by ether using a torque wrench, Measure the angle Of twist from the datum positon. Apply a second load of the same torque as the preload inthe opposite direction and then remove, The residual angle of pivotal support shall be nated as datum positon. Apply a second tes load in the opposite direction to the fst est load, 85.4 Measure the angle of twist from the second datum positon. | Prepared by ue < Approved by eva Date:06 wi 2016 — Date: 06-10-2076 CONTROLLED CoPY [ | _ STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE TEST PROCEDURE FOR TORSION TEST ON LADDER LENGTH | [teem tons [Reainto — ener raat] Dimensions in miimetres ey pivot mounting bracket fixed mounting bracket (clamped) test loa ictal support Position for attachment of torque wrench (if used) Fig 2~ Arrangement for torsion test Acceptable Limits: Torsion test on Ladder length 86.1 The angle of twist shall not exceed the value ar Maximum allowable angle of twist (in degrees) = c x1/ 2000 = W111 Where c= is allowable twist (18°) ; and 1s the test span in mm Reporting of Test Results: 87.4 Update the test details in ladder testing log book. 87.2 Report the test results in the Laddor Test Report 87.3.
