ANG WIKA
2.1 Wika
Ang pinakamahalagang interes sa pag-aaral ng wika ay hindi ang wika mismo kundi ang
gamit nito, kung papaano ang wika nagpapakilala sa tao, ang sosyal niyang kaligiran, mga pangarap at
mithiin niya, persepsyon nila sa bawat isa, at ang sitwasyon sa lipunan na kung saan siya nabibilang.
(A.D. Edwards, 1979) .
Saan nga ba nagmula ang wika? Paano nga ba nagkaroon ng wika ang mga tao sa sanlibutan?
Ito ang mga tanong na madalas na umuukilkil sa isipan ng bawat isa kung ang pag-uusapan ay
patungkol sa pinagmulan ng wika. Ayon sa iba’t ibang manunulat at teorista, ang may
pinakamatandang lahi ay ang mga Egyptian at maging ang kanilang wika ay kasing tanda na rin nila.
Mula sa aklat nina Fromkin, V.& R. Rodman (1983), ang lahat ng kultura ay may kani-
kanilang kuwento ng pinagmulan ng wika. Ayon naman kay Darsna Tyagi (2006), pinaniniwalaang
ang Son of Heaven na si Tien-Zu ang nagbigay ng wika at kapangyarihan. Sa bansang Hapon, si
Amaterasu ang tinaguriang manlilikha nila ng wika.
Buensuceso- ang wika ay isang arbitraryong Sistema ng mga tunog o ponema na ginagamit ng
tao sa pakikipagtalastasan.
Caroll (1954) – ang wika ay isang Sistema ng mga sagisag na binubuo at tinatanggap ng
lipunan.
Edward Sapir (1949) – ang wika ay isang likas at makataong pamamaraan ng paghahatid ng
mga kaisipan, damdamin at mithiin.
Todd ( 1987 ) - ang wika ay isang set ng mga sagisag na ginagamit sa komunikasyon.
Tumangan, Sr. et al. (1997)- Ang wika ay isang kabuuan ng mga sagisag na panandang
binibigkas na sa pamamagitan nito ay nagkakaunawaan, nagkakaisa at nagkakaugnay-ugnay ang
isang pulutong ng mga tao.

Hindi na kaila sa ating lahat ang kabatirang ang wika at lipunan ay tuwirang
magkaugnay. Binanggit ni Wardhaugh (2006), na ang isang lipunan ay tumutukoy sa
grupo ng mga tao na magkakasama para sa isang tiyak na layunin o mga layunin. Dito,
ang lipunan ay isang komprehensibong konsepto subalit mahalaga ang komprehensibong
pananaw na ito sa kadahilanang, iba’t ibang uri ng lipunan ang nagbibigay ng direktang
impluwensiya sa wika o bise bersa. Sa pamamagitan nito, mahuhulma ang kabuluhan ng
wika sa paligid na kung anong wika ang sinasalita ng isang indibidwal sa lipunan.

3.2. DIYALEKTO
Dayalek ang tawag sa mga wikang nabuo mula sa mga pangunahing wika ng isang
lalawigan na kadalasang sinasalita sa iba’t ibang baying nasasakupan ( Gonzalvo, 2016).
Ito rin ay uri ng pangunahing wika na nababago, nagbabago o nagiging natatangi dahil
ginagamit ito ng mga taong nasa ibang rehiyon o lokasyon. Isang halimbawa nito ay ang
Tagalog na nanganak ng uri o barayti tulad ng Tagalog-Batangas, Tagalog-Cavite, Tagalog-
Maynila at iba pa (Nuncio, et al. 2016).
3.3. IDYOLEK
Taglay ng wikang ito ang pansariling katangian sapagkat persona ang paggamit nito
( Gonzalvo, 2016). Ayon kay Nuncio, et al. (2016), ang idyolek ay ang natatangi at
espisipikong paraan ng pagsasalita ng isang tao. Kadalasan, ating nakikilala o nagiging marka
ito ng pagkakakilanlan ng isang tao. Isang halimbawa nito ay ang paraan ng pagsasalita ni Kris
Aquino.
3.4. TABOO

Sa lipunan, may mga salitang tinatawag na taboo . Ito ay mga salitang bawal gamitin o
hindi maaaring gamitin sa isang pormal na usapan sa lipunan. Kung ang gawain ay taboo, ang
paggawa nito ay isa ring taboo kung nakikita ng karamihan. Ipinagbabawal ang paggamit nito

Ang mga Ilokano ay kilala bilang masisigasig at matitipid, na ang bawat sentimo ay
pawang mahalagang bagay na para sa kanila. Ang bawat segundo, minuto, oras at araw sa
paggawa ng anumang trabaho ay kanilang pinahahalagahan , sapagkat dito sila kumikita at
nabubuhay. Ang badyet sa isang taong konsumo ay para sa pagkain at sa iba pang
pangangailangan. Mahilig silang magtabi ng pera para magagamit nila sa mga hindi inaasahang
paggagastusan (emergency needs). Kapag may pagkakataon na sila’y kinakapos, hangga’t
maaari ay gagawa sila ng paraan para matugunan ang kanilang pangangailangan. Ito ang
mangingilan-ngilang katangian ng mga Ilokano. Sa Ilocos makikita ang karamihan sa kanila.
Nasa mataas na lugar ng Acacia, Kahel at Kayapa, Nueva Vizcaya ang pook na
pinaninirahan o kinanalgyan ng mga Kalahan. Ang pook na ito ay mataas at buhat sa tuktok ng
bundok ay buong paghangang namamalas nang nakatayo ang kaakit-akit na kapaligirang iginuhit
ni Bathala. Ang mga Kalahan ay isa sa mga pangkat-etniko na naninirahan sa kabundukan ng
Nueva Vizcaya. Gaya ng ibang pangkat, ang grupong ito ay may kakantahan din. Kung
pananamit ang pag-uusapan, hindi rin sila pahuhuli sapagkat ang kanilang mga kasuotan ay
katulad din sa kasuotang sinusuot ng mga katutubo sa Baguio, bagamat ang iba’y gumagamit na
rin ng mga kasuotang karaniwang nakikita sa kabayanan.
Ang kasal para sa mga dalagang Ibaan ay isang tunay na kanilang pinapangarap . Ang
pangkat na ito ay matatagpuan sa Batangas. Ang pangarap nilang maikasal ay marahil dulot ng
kakaibang tradisyon nito na hanggang ngayon ay sinusunod ng mamamayan lalo na ng mga
tagabaryo. Sa mga kababaihan, ito ay isang pangarap, subalit para sa mga lalaki, ito ay
masasabing bangungot lalo na kung iisipin nila ang malaking halaga na kanilang magagastos sa
kasal.

mga nasyonal na minorya para sa sariling pamamahala at espesyal na representasyon. Ito ang
sitwasyon na naaangkop para sa nabanggit na nating mga Maranao o Ifugao na namamalagi
sa kani-kanilang teritoryo. Dahil nasyonal na minorya sila, ang kani-kanilang teritoryo
ay dapat may naangkop na antas ng awtonomiya.
Ang mga pangkat etniko para kay Kymlicka ay ang mga grupo ng mga imigrante, na
dahil kusa silang lumipat ng tirahan ay nangangahulugang dapat kusa din silang
makikibagay at makiki-isa sa mayoryang pangkat na naninirahan sa nililipatan nilang
teritoryo. Dahil sa pagkukusang ito, ang karapatan ng mga pangkat etniko ay hindi
kasinglawak at kasinglalim sa mga karapatan na naaangkop para sa mga nasyonal na
minorya. Ngunit naniniwala si Kymlicka na dapat pa rin silang bigyan ng mga karapatan
tulad ng proteksyon mula sa diskriminasyon, pagkikilala bilang isang kultural na pangkat,
eksempsyon sa mga patakarang lumalabag sa kanilang mga relihiyosong paniniwala, at
pondo para sa kanilang mga kultural na gawain.
Ito naman ang sitwasyong naaangkop para sa nabanggit na nating mga Maranao o
Ifugao na naninirahan sa isang malaking lungsod na hindi na sakop ng kanilang heograpikal
na teritoryo. Dahil nasa labas na sila ng kani-kanilang teritoryo, hindi na awtonomiya ang
dapat pag-uusapan, kung hindi sapat na respeto para sa kanilang kultura at sapat na espasyo
para mapapangalagaan pa rin nila ang kani-kanilang kultural na kaakuhan.

Ngunit ayon sa postkolonyal na teorisistang si Epifanio San Juan, ang teorya ni Rex
ay may daladala ring mga problemang dapat din nating bantayan. Una rito ay ang hindi
malinaw na pagkakahiwalay ng pribado at publikong mga domeyn sa totoong buhay.
Halimbawa, ang pagkatay, pagluto, at pagkain ng aso, na isang gawain ng marami
nating pangkat etniko ay magiging problematiko sa konteksto ng Metro Manila kung saan
mas mahigpit na ipinagbabawal ng ganitong kaugalian. Ibig sabihin, hindi maaring

mayoryang pangkat. Gayunpaman, magagamit pa ring isang mahalagang inisyal na

Ang pangkat ng Meranaw ay yaong mga Muslim na naninirahan sa Lanao na nasa kapaligiran ng
Lawa ng Lanao na sinasabing pumapangalawa sa pinakamalaking lawa sa Pilipinas. “Ranao” ang
orihinal na katawagan sa lalawigang ito na ang ibig sabihin ay “lawa o lanaw” at ang tawag sa
mamamayang nito ay “Maranao” (sa lawa naninirahan).
Sinasabing, ang pangunahing hanapbuhay nila ay pagsasaka dahil malawak at mataba ang
kanilang lupain. Samantalang, ang iba nama’y pangingisda ang kanilang ikinabubuhay. Bigas naman ang
kanilang pangunahing pagkain. Bukod dito, may mga prutas din silang ipinagmamalaki, ito ay ang
durian at marang na hindi makikita sa Luzon. Sa ngayon, dumarami na ang mga nangangalakal na
Meranaw.
Wika
Maranaw ang tawag sa wika ng mga Meranaw. Ito’y nakikilala dahil sa matigas nitong
tono at diin. Maranaw ang kanilang gamit na wika sa kapwa Meranaw. Subalit, kapag Kristiyano
naman ang kanilang kausap, ay marunong din silang magsalita ng Cebuano at Filipino at maging ng
Ingles.
Lungsod Zamboanga, siyudad ng mga pangarap at bulalak. Binansagan itong bilang City of
Flowers, marahil ay saganang-sagana ito sa mga mahahalimuyak at nagagandahang mga bulaklak sa
paligid na matatagpuan sa lungsod na ito. Isa rin146
sa mga dahilan ay ang mga nagagandahang mga dalaga
ng Zamboanga, yaong mga kadalagahang bantog hindi lamang sa kanilang taglay na kayumihan at
karikitan, kundi ang kanilang likas na mapang-akit at pagiging malambing.
Cahavacano ang pangunahing wikang ginagamit sa Zamboanga. Ang wikang ito ay tila, pinaghalo-

Sama Pangutaran
Ang Sama Pangutaran ay kilala sa katawagan bilang “Siyama” na siya ring lenggwahe ng
mga Taong Sama ng Sulu Arkipelago. Ito ay may kabuoang populasyon na apat na libo at walong
daan pitumpu’t isa (4, 871). Ayon sa kasaysayan, ang Sama Pangutaran ay naninirahan sa
pinakamalaking bahagi ng Sulu Arkipelago sa pagitan ng Filipinas at malaking isla ng Borneo. Ayon
sa impormante na si Al Azis Adilon, ang salitang pangutaran ay hango sa pangalan ni Pangutaran na
isa sa mga tauhan ng sultan ng Sulu na inatasang151
tumungo sa nasabing isla. Nagkaroon ng labanan sa
hukbo ng mga kastila at naging matagumpay ang kanilang paglalaban laban sa mga kastila. Kung
kaya, sa utos ng sultan ng Sulu ay ipinangalan sa kanya ang isla bilang pagtanaw ng utang na loob ng
sultan sa kanyang katapangan at pagiging bayani ng Sulu. Ang mga Sama ng Pangutaran ay

Ang mga Sama Bajao ay nabubuhay sa kahirapan katulad ng kanilang mga sinaunang pamilya
o angkan dahil na rin sa uri ng tahanan na mayroon sila na walang kuryente, walang mga
kasangkapan gaya ng kama, upuan, mesa, kagamitang de kuryente at iba pang kagamitan na nakikita
sa loob ng bahay. Ang ganitong uri ng pamumuhay ay karaniwan na sa mga Bajao. Hindi sila

mahilig sa mga mamahalin at magagarbong kasangkapan . Nakokontento na lamang sila sa kung
anomang bagay na mayroon sila. Bagkus, ang kanilang prayoridad ay ang mga kagamitan sa
pangingisda sapagkat ito ang kanilang hanapbuhay. Ang pagkakaroon ng ibang bagay gaya ng mga

Ang mga tirahan ng mga sinaunang katutubong Sama ay tinatawag na pelang o bahay-
bangka, payag-payag at balung-balung noong unang panahon. Subalit, sa paglipas ng mga panahon,
bihira nang makakita ng bangkang-bahay na tinitirahan ng mga katutubong Sama Bajao. Kung
mayroon man, hindi na ito maituturing na pananahanan, kundi, ginagamit bilang transportasyon. Sa

mga bahay ay gawa sa katutubong kagamitan na may mataas na haligi. Walang dibisyon na

Si G. Rodney Ebrole ay kasalukuyang guro sa department ng Filipino na nagtuturo ng mga medyor sa asignaturang
Filipino at sa master’s. Sa loob ng labinwalong taon ng pagtuturo, siya ay naimbitahan at nakapagbahi na ng mga kaalaman
bilang tagapagsalita sa iba’t ibang paaralan. Naging tagapagrebyu rin siya sa LET at tagapamigay ng College Entrance test
sa loob ng kampus at sa iba’t ibang eksternal yunit ng Western Mindanao State University (WMSU). Reaktor din siya sa
pambansang presentasyon ng mga pag-aaral sa wika na ginanap sa MSU-IIT, Iligan City. Sa Universidad na ito, kanyang
tinatapos ang pag-aaral sa Ph.D sa Language Studies sa Filipino at kasalukyang sinusulat ang kanyang disertasyon na may
kinalaman sap ag-aaral ng paggpaplanong pangwika. Samantala ang kanyang Master’s at ang Batsilyer ng Sining sa Filipino
ay tinapos niya sa WMSU noong taong 2000. Siya ay lisensyadong guro rin na kumuha ng Sertipiko sa Propesyunal
Edukeyson bilang pangangailangan sa LET. Ang kanyang mga ginawang pag-aaral na hindi pa nailathala ay ang code-
switching ng wikang Chabacano. Isa itong paghahambing sa kasidhian ng code-switching sa kanluran at silangang bahagi ng
lungsod Zamboanga. Ang kanyang master’s tesis naman ay patungkol sa kahusayan ng pagsulat ng komposisyon at
gramatika ng mga mag-aaral sa sekondarya. Ang isinulat niyang artikulo tungkol sa pagbabaligtad ng ayos ng aspekto ng
pandiwa na ang nauna ay kontemplatibo, imperpefectibo at perfectibo ay nakaangkla sa prinsipol ng pagtuturo na lahat ng
pagkatutuo ay mahigpit na magkaugnay sa tunay na buhay, mahalagang maging habit ng mga bata na mag-isip muna bago
gawin ang isang bagay. Mayroon din siyang ginawang mga salin mula sa iba’t ibang uri ng dokumento. Sumusulat rin siya
ng mga salaysay sa Filipino at Chabacano. Ang pinakamahalagang bahagi ng kanyang karera ay ang pag-imbento ng mga
laro, bagamat hindi ito kaugnay sa kanyang larang ngunit dahil sa wika, mula sa abstraktong konsepto nagawan niyang
mabuo nang malinaw at tiyak ang mga hakbangin ng isang pang-intelektuwal na laro. Ang ilan rito ay tinawag niyang EOS
na katulad ng Chess, ito ay lisensyado na mula sa IPO at nakadiposito sa nasyunal laybrari ng bansa.
