Research Process:
Statement of the Problem General Problem
The study aims to identify the challenges
and opportunities in teaching Mathematics
for Online Learning in Disruptive Times
and Beyond during first semester A.Y.
2021-2022. Results will be basis for a
propose development plan in strengthening
the teaching of mathematics in online
learning.
Specific Problem
Specifically, this study sought to answer the
following questions:
1. What are challenges experienced by the
learners during online classes?
 Technical Struggle
 Computer literacy
 Self-motivation
 Financial stability
 Mental health struggle
2. What are the opportunities that a student
can gain from online learning approach?
3. Is there significant relationship between
the challenges and opportunities in
teaching mathematics in online learning
approach?
4. What development plan can be
proposing in strengthening the teaching
of mathematics in online learning?
Hypothesis There is no significant relationship
between the challenges and
opportunities in teaching mathematics in
online learning approach.

Scope and delimitations This research is primarily based on

the challenges and opportunities in teaching
mathematics in online learning in disruptive
times and beyond during first semester A.Y.
2021-2022. Because we are from a
developing nation, this research focuses
solely on the development in strengthening
the teaching of mathematics approaching in
online learning and may become a
component of the students' education in the
future.
This study is based on student
challenges experience during online class
that have a significant impact on the growth
of their mathematical knowledge, and it is
responded by selected students of Bachelor
of Secondary Education majoring in
Mathematics who are studying at Gordon
College from first year to fourth year level,
SY- 2021-2022. We have sent the survey to
a group of students via email and Facebook
Messenger.
The results of the survey will be kept
confidential and will have no effect on their
personal lives. When there is an immediate
change in the educational system, it is
merely a study to pay attention to the needs
of the student.
Significance of the study Commission on Higher Education
(CHED). The result of this study will aim to
be the way for CHED to find more effective
teaching methods to raise the quality of
education and pay attention to the need of
students to keep pace with the changing
structure and system of learning during the
pandemic situation.

School Administrators. The results of the

study we conducted was provided a
foundation for the creation of the learning
system, as well as to meet the needs of
students in terms of skill development and
teaching quality when using virtual online
classes.

School Math Coordinators. The results of

this study will assist our coordinators in
paying more attention to the students' higher
demands and developing a realistic plan to
organize appropriate education for each
student.

Mathematics Instructors. The results of

this study will assist our teachers in being
more effective in the classroom and in
understanding the growing need for students
to receive more appropriate educational
attention. It also intends for a teacher to be
able to view each student's current status in
order to provide appropriate attention and
educational needs in order to stay up with
the rapid changes in teaching.

Students. Students will profit if their

instructors are capable of providing quality
Education. They will profit from the
greatest online learning technique if they
properly comprehend the course. As a
result, the students' learning objectives will
be met, and their abilities will be further
enhanced. This will benefit in the
development of their knowledge, abilities,
work habits, personality traits, motivation
and confidence to continue with the flipped
classroom. This study also teaches students
how to be more flexible, creative, and
productive in order to develop their social,
intellectual, and communication skills.
